Anyone read these as a young 'un? I couldn't get enough of these when I was 8-12 years old. I think I read them all.

The titles started with "The Case of..." or "The Mystery of..."

My favorites were "The Stuttering Parrot" "The Coughing Dragon" and "The Secret of Terror Castle".

I've thought about tracking some copies down and re-reading them! Nostalgia is a cruel mistress!

I remember this series, it was my favorite! I read all the books, but don't really remember any of them anymore. In my 6th grade reading class we did book reports every month. After doing 5 book reports on 5 different 3 Investigators books, my teacher forced me to read something else.

those were pretty good in general. As well as the Hardy Boys books, there was another series I enjoyed a lot. Some sort of "...... Adventure" series where the two brothers worked for their dad's company capturing wild animals for zoos and circuses and whatnot. They'd go to different areas of the world for different animals. Can't remember the name though.

I loved these books. Sometime after Hitchcock dies they put a new guy in his place, but I can't remember his name or if he was based on a real person. Also, did they put this guy into the books that had already had hitchcock in them after he died?

I believe that they are very out of print now.

Re: Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators

Yes, I just dug up this old thread from the grave I was looking for any mention of the dvds on the 2 movies.

In case you guys didn't know they did 2 live action movies based on these books. Filmed in English, but mostly for a German audience. Though not that faithful to the books, I thought they did a decent job of keeping their spirit and I found the movies to be a lot of fun. Kind of a mix of Indiana Jones/Spy Kids ...

Not available on dvd R1 but has anyone seen these?

Anyways, for the fans I've created a few websites. Two on the artists of the books and one fan page on the Three Investigators in general on facebook.

Check em out!

Wow. Yeah, I read all of these as a kid, same time as the Hardy Boys. Nice blast from the past.

I loved these books! I did actually hear about the movies (not that long ago actually), and was sad to find out that they were never released here. I'd pick them up for sure though I know nothing about them!

Re: Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators

The Three Investigators and the Secret of Skeleton Island movie is airing on DISNEY XD on May 5th at 5 pm ... not sure if that's eastern or pacific or maybe both. I have Disney XD on my Dish Network ... it's probably on DirecTV as well. Check with your provider!

Though I did think Terror Castle was better, both are fun movies.

I liked those books. I even remember some of the clues: "In the eye in the sky where no man can find it." "To-to-to be or not to-to-to be."
