Tried to get through it in college when I went through my Beat phase. I also failed. On the other hand, I thought Burrough's Junkie, an autobiographical novel about heroin addiction, was excellent.

The English Patient

So far, I'm enjoying it a lot more than the movie.

Halfway through A Game Of Thrones. Excellent book.
Next up The Church Of Dead Girls by, Stephen Dobyns.

Church Of Dead Girls is pretty good, as I recall. Some bizarre imagery.

Well.. having finished all 4 released Harry Potter books,

i am currently reading a few others. I really should read just one at a time.

Anyways.. I'm reading the following:

A Game of Thrones - George R.R. Martin
Batman: No Man's Land -
Ender's Game (for the book of the month posting)
Will be starting the hobbit and lord of the rings series (for the b&N university class)

I have lots of series I need to read
such as finishing the Anne Rice vampire books,
Wheel of Time series
and a few others.

Just finished Close To Shore by Michael Capuzzo. It's the true story of a rogue Great White Shark that started terrorizing swimmers off of New Jersey in 1916. It's the story that was the role model for Peter Benchley's Jaws. Great read!!!!

Almost done with A Clash Of Kings, book two of A Song Of Ice And Fire, by, George R.R. Martin. Absolutely brilliant.
Can't make up my mind what to read next. The Lost, by Jack Ketchum, or, Hot Springs, by, Stephen Hunter.

Heavy reading but enjoyable! I'm going through a serious ancient history "phase" at the moment.

Finished Clash Of Kings. Brilliant. Some have said they didn't like it. I loved it. Many have said that A Storm Of Swords is the best of the three( waiting for Sci-Fi book club to ship it). If that is right, then I'm in for a hell of a treat.
Have begun reading The Lost, by Jack Ketchum. Pretty damn good so far.

I almost almost done with Death in Holy Orders by PD James. Its like watching grass grow. James goes into so much overkill on details that the pacing of the story is painfully slow. However, I've gotten 2/3 through it and I will finish it. I really wish mystery writers would learn that 250-300 pages is the perfect length for story. Anyway it is an interesting story, but it could definitely have been edited better.

I'm working on Theodore Dreiser's "An American Tragedy". It's good so far, but it doesn't seen to be getting any shorter.

What Color Is Your Parachute by Richard Nelson Bolles. It's a job hunting book and I'm graduating so it's appropriate.

Finished The Lost, by Jack Ketchum. Awesome. The ending is brutal as only Jack can do.
Started and finished Hot Springs by Stephen Hunter(spent the whole day and night reading it). Man, this guy can write serious balls to the wall action. Just what it is I like about the Swaggers(Bob Lee, Earl)I don't know, but when I begin to read I just cannot put the bloody books down. Hunter is a damn good action writer. If you haven't read any of his stuff then start with Point Of Impact( then Black Light and Dirty White Boys(excellent)).
Started on A Storm Of Swords, the third part of A Song Of Fire And Ice(won't be finishing that in a night that's for sure ).
So many good books, so little time.

I just finished 2001: A Space Odyessy by Arthur C Clarke (I was going through my library & decided that since it is 2001, perhaps I should give it a try) I am now getting through 2010 & would like to know what books are next in the series. Thanks in advance.
