Flash Sales rarely get more than 24 hr notice and often aren't known until the day of. For a few sales their Twitter or Facebook sort of gave a heads up a couple days ahead, but the last few sales
they didn't even do that.

Best guess is always 4th Tuesday of Feb though -- 2/23. The "Feb" has always been on Tuesday FWIW, The Fall sale usually is, but has happened on Mond twice and Thurs twice as well.
1st sale and a couple years ago it happened Valentines week seems to be 2nd most common
There also don't seem to be any huge name releases in Feb to key on, but there are 3 releases on Feb 23 so that's my guess though March 2 wouldn't be a bad guess with no New Releases to worry about that week.

14-Feb-2012
26-Feb-2013
25-Feb-2014
10-Mar-2015 (The Soft Skin released though otherwise not sure why it was delayed a couple weeks)
23-Feb-2016
28-Feb-2017
13-Feb-2018 (Silence of the Lambs and Night of the Living Dead released this day -- interesting Valentine's Day choices)
5-Mar-2019 (no releases)
25-Feb-2020

Re: Criterion February sale?

I'll be doing my usual three-fer. Two movies I absolutely have to have this time around, and one from my want list to get the free shipping.

I'm hoping Amazon will price-match in the way they did this last time, -closer to $20 than 22.97 (which is only a price-match if you buy one and have it shipped, and who does that? I actually bought some Criterions from Amazon this last time.

That was during the B&N sale, not the flash sale.

Re: Criterion February sale?

I pretty much buy my Criterions exclusively at these flash sales, to earn the points. Especially since I tend to go around $60 each time, not buying things like Bergman box sets, it takes quite a while for me to rack up the $500 threshold. I think it was seven years last time. But I know that in that time I hit up some B&N sales, or skipped some flash sales altogether due to a nasty bout of unemployment, so I'm hoping to reach $500 a little faster this time.

I would like to get some of Cronenberg's stuff.

Any idea when it will be up?

Never known amazon to price match the Flash Sale though I guess there's always a first. There are (?were) a few $20 Criterions at Walmart which Amazon was matching a few days ago.

When will what be up? The 50% Sale will go live at noon ET whichever day it starts. I'd check ever Tuesday until it happens though usually somebody gets a thread started as soon
as any date is known. That often is an hour or so prior to the sale though sometimes we get an overnight warning which someone leaks from inside. It appears I started the Oct 2020 sale and Feb 2020
6-9pm the night before so someone at Bluray.com probably got a notice from one of their company contacts and posted it there. Actually looking a bit further, the threads for the two 2019 sales were posted
about the same time the night before so 16-18 hrs notice seems to be the new normal

If you're registered at criterion.com, they'll e-mail you when the sale goes live.
