Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
And whoever is going to purchase MGM will care two hoots for their catalog on physical media as everything future for entertainment is in the cloud.

Looks like they're losing their licenses to a lot of MGM stuff (Carrie, ROTLD, Invasion of the Body Snatchers), so anyone with MGM titles they need to buy should probably give those titles priority before it's too late. |
Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
Fastest media mail turnaround I have seen in a while - received my 12/23 shipped order today from Louisville, KY. 20 titles and none with slips 🙁

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
^^Agreed. When I placed my order, I told a friend that I'd see the discs in February. They got here in six days, with one of those days being Christmas. My jaw is still bruised from how hard it hit the floor when I saw the package on my front porch.

Roger Corman birthday sale
Shout! Factory I picked up Piranha steelbook Rock n Roll High School steelbook Suburbia Women in Cages triple feature I highly recommend the double feature DVDs like Big Bad Mama I/II, or Crazy Mama/Lady in Red. You can watch them "grindhouse style", where the movies are shown back-to-back with Corman trailers in between. Plus, The Lady in Red is just a damn good movie. Needs a Blu, actually. |

Picked up longtime guilty pleasure Brewster's Millions, and The Harder They Come, a movie I should have already seen a long time ago being a fan of the music. Resisted the urge to stack the box to get free shipping. $6.99 ain't bad. It's not even 2 tacos.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
Caved and bought $50 worth of stuff.
Trespass Into the Night Farewell my Lovely/Big Sleep The Blue Dahlia (got tired of waiting for this to be in stock and on sale at Arrow) |

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
I’m hoping for some good prices coming up

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
A quick glance at the Scream Factory lineup shows I have most of the movies I want from them already, at least on DVD or laserdisc, and I watch them so sporadically that an upgrade is not always worth the price. I'll probably bite on a couple of titles though if the price is right. Some of their Hammer films are way too pricey (~$28).
I also noticed that quite a few of the films I own by them are no longer available, so that's sort of nice that I got in while the getting was good. |
Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
Shocktober sale is on https://www.shoutfactory.com/sale/shocktober
Some decent deals but nothing amazing. The best deals are the 50% off deep cuts at the bottom, everything else is 40% off. |
Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
Yeah, I think I'll sit this one out, especially after already hitting up Kino and Criterion earlier this month. Plus a couple of rare LPs from Discogs and I have to take my car into the shop tomorrow.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
I mostly filled up on the Deep Cuts section. Most of the attractive headliners will undoubtedly get 4K releases soon.
|
Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
If I could combine Shocktober with the Kino Lorber sale in order to get free shipping, it would be great. As it is, in order to get to that level on either sale, I'd be adding things I don't exactly need ...

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
Really? I could get to $50 on Scream pretty quick, but that's more of an indictment of how their better titles aren't discounted too much at this sale.
Three Hammer films is all you'd need to cross that threshold. |
Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
A few I wouldn’t mind getting, but I think I’ll sit this sale out.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales
I seem to remember that they had a lot more titles and better pricing last year. That's when I bought the first two Universal Horror Collections. I was really hoping for those sets to be there. As it is, there is only one set included and not at a very good price.
