I picked up a copy as well. Looking at reviews the positive is that it also comes with a digital copy for the series. The negative is that the entire set except the final season is only Dolby 2.0. So that kinda stinks.

I’ll hold out for the UHD disc. Reviews have been spectacular for it. Both video and audio have been upgraded.

The 4K UHD of Blackhawk Down is only $17 right now. Doesn't come out until next May though. Might want to lock in that price if you're even remotely interested. It's a really long wait though.

Too bad they don't have the extended cut on 4K, and the only director's cut on Blu-ray release is from Japan I think.

If I'm not mistaken, the Unrated Extended Cut wasn't officially sanctioned by Ridley Scott. That was part of a series of Unrated extended cut cash grabs by Sony during the hey day of DVD. They did ones for Donnie Brasco, Tears of the Sun, The Patriot and the Replacement Killers.

So I'm not going to sweat it.

So? Fuck Ridley Scott and other directors. These studios have no business giving us extra cuts then pretending they don't exist anymore. Patriot and Punisher (2004) have the same problem now and I'll never upgrade to 4K without the extended cuts. I don't watch bullshit cut versions. Hell, they even fucked us on the 4K release of Terminator 2. I'm so fucking tired of director/producer preferences on this shit and lazy fucking studios not giving us everything.
