Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I hope the recent OOP MGM/United Artist 4K releases from Kino show up at Hamilton at a discount price. Titles such as In The Heat Of the Night, Some Like It Hot, 12 Angry Men, and The Great Escape. These are all films where the blu ray was released by Criterion but the 4K by KINO. Some Like It Hot was announced today for release in April as a Criterion 4K release. The others may follow.

The bottom-feeder in me is tempted by those SRS DVDs they seem to have in abundance, but I should really know better. Really.

3 maybes, but $4 ship + sales tax kills any deal.

4 dollars shipping is so cheap rather low.

Cheaper than Louis DeJoy........ but I don't want the 3 titles all that badly. If they were great titles, I'd bite.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Those OOP 4K Kino's and Arrow's are a bargain. Most are selling for 2-3 times as much on the secondary market, including:

Dressed to Kill
In the Heat of the Night
The Killing
Killer's Kiss
Paths of Glory
12 Angry Men
The Manchurian Candidate
Mallrats
Carlito's Way
The Hills Have Eyes
The Cell
Inglorious Basterds

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

The Cell and Inglorious Basterds are new releases, and aren't discounted anyway, but the others sold out pretty quickly when I checked a couple hours after Adam posted.

Did a small order of Carlito’s way and Rogues and Racketeers set. I’d been eyeing that one for the BN sale but 11.95 is a tad lower than the 19.95 price at BN.

Most of the Kino's were gone in a flash yesterday, though. I only needed 12 Angry Men and The Killing.

Same. Just needed a bunch of those 4k’s. But most were gone in a flash. Just like last time. Got ‘in the heat of the night’ and ‘paths of glory’. The former also has the other two ‘Mister Tibbs’ movies on the 2nd BD disc. There’s a good deal of $4.95 Kino’s and $5.95 Code Red’s, some of which are OOP. I don’t know where EHB unearths those from. Tempted to make a 2nd order but have long run out of space to hoard. Wife keeps threatening to throw them all out if something happens to me 😀

They're both Limited Editions and completely sold out. You can't find them new at any other retailers, and on the secondary market, you'll pay almost twice the price as Hamilton has them for.

oh wow, I guess getting them 50% off last month at B&N was a good idea then.

Adam, can you mark 'THE CAT O' NINE TAILS' (in the $12.95 section) as UHD ? Thanks

Yes, I missed out on it unfortunately, so now I’m paying Hamilton prices rather than the even more outrageous eBay prices.

There is! GoldenWheels tried to set expectations on the other forum about there being a bit of a dry spell, so it might not be anything to write home about.

I’m not sure who here started referring to forum.blu-ray.com as “the other forum”, but it kinda stuck. The Hamilton Book thread there is what I was alluding to.

For those who have it; is there any reason to own the SF Wild at Heart? I already have a region free disc I bought years ago at one of the European Amazons (think was Amazon.it).

It is frustrating to see after how much trouble it was to get the Walmart exclusive steelbook for RoboDoc from Walmart that it is now being dumped so cheap through Hamiltion Books. But this a great pricefor anyone that doesn't have it already.

How much ‘Olive Films’ inventory still remains unsold ??? Apparently quite a bit.

That is an awesome price for a great documentary and even a steelbook to boot. Very tempting but I just don't see me feeling the need to sit through that long but excellent documentary again anytime in the next 15 years. No reason to have it sitting on my shelf, even for 6 measly bucks.

That was the one title that really jumped out at me in this batch, but I kinda came to the same conclusion. And besides, if the disc gets dumped that fast, it’ll probably be streaming free somewhere soon enough.

EDIT: Just looked on Tubi and there it is. :)

That's my thinking as Deepdiscount still has fairly regular B1G1 sales on Olive titles.

The Magicians which was mentioned in the Amazon thread is streaming on CW & 1 other (Tubi??). It isn't bad, but it's worth the commercials to save the $'s; I doubt if I'll ever watch it again (Though I would enjoy having "Alice" for Xmas or my Birthday!)
