Picked up Pet Sematary(original) today from Walmart for $9.96. It's not marked that price on the shelf, but it should ring up that price. I actually ordered it for in store pickup for the online price of $12.24 but since it was available in store the system automatically refunded me the difference in price. Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is showing up as $7.96 if you can find it. Ymmv, but there are some others in the $10 range also(ET, Kin, Fast & Furious 6, Schindler's List and Deepwater Horizon).

At $10 a movie, that's my sweet spot, even though I'm upgrading from blu. So I'm fine with that. $20 is possible I suppose, but I'm not risking it.

Does anyone know if The Greatest Showman has been $8.96 for 4k at walmart or maybe is going to be $8.96?
Just not sure if I stumbled onto something old or a potential BF deal:

That is what I was afraid of.
My daughter has just recently become obsessed, even though I don't think she's ever seen it.
Thanks, guys.

this means fans must endure the same overzealous tinkering and digital manipulation. As mentioned in my review of the U.K. import, the DNR may not be Predator levels of atrocity, but it is nonetheless bad and disheartening for an action classic, and there are also several instances of aliasing and moiré effects along the sharpest edges and in light fixtures.
Viewing Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 4K makes for an extremely frustrating experience. Scattered throughout the film are some shots and sequences that look positively stunning and an obvious step-up from previous versions. But every example of this is equally matched with shots that are inversely some of the ugliest I've witnessed in 4K, with thick lashings of DNR literally turning actors into wax models, and sharpening tools employed to counteract it.
...with regard to the new 4K UHD release of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, it is arguably not just "not good", but downright bad....the two biggest issues most videophiles will have with this new release are the near absence of organic looking film grain and some tweaks to the palette that, for example, add a kind of greenish-teal tone to several scenes that never had them before.

Thanks for the fast info. I just canceled my ordered.
Looks like I'm going have to read more reviews before I purchase any more 4K movies and not only go off the Real/fake list.
I still have not bought a 4K player,and only own a few 4k movies.

I don't really worry about the "real/fake 4K" distinction except for maybe upgrading Blu-rays I already own. If it's a new title, even if the UHD disc is "fake," it's typically going to offer better compression and less artifacts due to the HVEC codec, HDR (which is the real improvement, even on "real" 4K titles), and sometimes better audio options, like an Atmos track.
So yeah, check out reviews.

FWIW, the T2 disc is a bit of an outlier, because the 4K transfer they used was mastered for the 3D version, where grain removal is more critical for a consistent 3D experience. They just didn't go back and undo some of the more extreme alterations before making the UHD disc. Typically the UHD disc should be an improvement if it's a "real" 4K transfer.

Do you have a 4K/UHD TV?

Just started looking into some players and what movies are out in 4k. Still kind of on the fence.
Truth is the wife and kids watch mostly streaming channels like Netflix, youtube and prime. I just got the Disney + package.
Still might buy a player , but I'm not going rebuy many movies so my 4k library would be small.
Planing on buying a Apple Tv4K and maybe either a LG UBK90 from Costco or Panasonic - DP-UB420 player..My kids want the Switch,so I'm also buying that this year.
Also thanks for the info
I'm also reading threads like this
