I see you have your priorities straight.

I've had some luck lately in getting stickers that are easily peelable. Also, discs ordered online, at least in my orders, are shipped without stickers. Hopefully, they ship with slipcovers.

As mentioned earlier in the thread too, FoxConnect has 30% off if you subscribe to their newsletter (although it's a one-time-only code), bringing the cost down to ~$18 a disc.

Glad we went back to talking about discounts here....I'm waiting for players to start dropping sub $400. I'll buy in at $300.
For me, it'll depend. More than likely, my purchase will be a Samsung Combo player, for $150. If not, I can wait. For those who will buy several 4K releases, that would justify a higher-priced player I guess.

I'd be curious on the actual data spec on these releases. Coming to find out the studios could have put most of these "4K" releases on a BD-50 won't make me friendly.

Target has Concussion in next week's circular (neat to see for something so niche-y) for $25.99 -- a buck lower than Amazon.

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

I just ordered my first UHD title, and it was FREE. Sony Rewards has two UHD options for 3599 points ea. Pineapple Express and Smurfs 2. I don't think it's tough for you to guess which one I got...

Not sure what I'm missing, but I don't see anything that indicates it's 4K/UHD.

Yeah, that's the same release as the US one, but with a steelbook.

Well dammit Adam, will I have to buy from Italy now?? Any word on a US release? I'm guessing they will...? AT least we don't have to worry about region coding this time around (except for the blu disc).

I wouldn't sweat it. It's not unusual for stuff like this to show up first on international sites, plus it's a Fox release, and they're the biggest cheerleaders that UHD BD has right now. I'm sure we'll see something over here really soon.

Nice! Still couldn't stomach watching it again, but it's good to know 4k titles can drop that quick.

Or maybe it's because of the movie...?

On a humorous note, it helpfully points out that to view the 4K version you need a 4K TV and player which are "non inclusi".

Amazon has price-matched Target's $24.99 UHD BD of The Revenant.

Also, Digitalbits confirmed the US release of ID4 will have DTS:X. So that means Fox isn't committing to either DTS or Atmos right now since Deadpool will be Atmos. But at least they're finally adding these tracks now.

"In announcement news today, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is about to officially announce the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day: 20th Anniversary Edition. The street date for the 4K version will be 6/7. (Note that the regular Blu-ray and Digital HD release arrive a month earlier, on 5/3). We’ve confirmed that both the theatrical and extended cuts will be included in 4K, with English DTS:X audio (plus additional audio in Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital, and French 5.1 DTS, and subtitles in English, French, and Spanish). Also included will be the regular 2-disc Blu-ray edition (with all of its extras, including both cuts of the film and the new 30-minute Independence Day: A Legacy Surging Forward documentary), and a code for a Digital HD version."

It says nouvelle copie restaurée à 4K , so I'm leaning more towards this being a BD+4K release, rather than "taken from 4K elements".

Yeah, my first UHD title was $19.99. I'm sticking to that more or less. Deadpool can wait until the price drops on the UHD.
