Fantastic prices on several classics that are apparently going out of print almost immediately. Everything's $4.99. Posted in this forum because two of them are (excellent) Blu-rays: Black Pirate and Pandora and the Flying Dutchman. Lots of classic silent flicks, too. The Fairbanks box is a ridiculously good deal. I grabbed pretty much everything. Probably not wise to hesitate:

The Blu-ray for Pandora and the Flying Dutchman looks absolutely fantastic. I am saddened to think it sold so poorly that it had to be dumped at $4.99. Jump on it without even reading reviews, it's a great movie as well.

Anyone that liked The Ghost and Mrs. Muir has to see it.

Not sure which one you're seeing, but for me it only shows a listing for the IRON MASK DVD, which was promoted in Kino's email blast, but was never actually reduced to $4.99 like the rest. Kinda surprised they have it as "discontinued" now when they surely didn't sell very many at $24.99. I suppose it has something to do with licensing.

I got a ship message but it said "She" was sold out. It was not clear whether I would be receiving it. The others said discontinued next to them in the email.

Just to provide some balance, I placed two orders in the sale on Jan. 30 (one day after the sale email was sent out, I think), received two 'order processed' emails from Kino on Feb. 2, and got delivery confirmation (from my "parcel pickup" location in Michigan, not Kino) on Feb. 5, so I'm wondering if orders placement times had anything to do with the delays for some folks? Maybe Kino didn't expect the complete sellout and got backlogged getting stuff shipped?

My bitch isn't with Kino. It's with Fed Ex. Media Mail is cheaper & faster. We'd all be better off with the USPS on slower shipping under $100.

My biggest gripe is being charged $8 when their site says it should be $6 - but considering what I ordered is *still* less than half the lowest *historical* Amazon price (as well as lower than even the historical lowest used copy, discounting what appears to be a couple of price mistakes) I'm not going to complain to them over $2.

I think about this every couple of days or so wondering if "today" will be the day I receive a surprise in the mailbox. I've still not receivee a shipping notice.

I had a surprise in my mailbox today! I still never received a shipping or "Thanks for your order" email but that's not really too big a issue. It was well packaged, shipped USPS, and *not* a cut-out!

I am an idiot. I ordered Bird Of Paradise blu-ray twice; once from this sale & once from the current DD sale.

Good prices, but not cheap enough to resell the extra. Guess I could put it on the trading list when the 2nd one comes.

Just a heads-up if you missed this sale: Hamilton Book has the Blu-rays of The Black Pirate ($6.95) and Pandora and the Flying Dutchman ($7.95) for sale at their website. They're not quite the bargain they were during the Kino sale, but they're still at good prices if you missed that sale and are still kicking yourself for it.
