I was reading over on that other forum and some of those folks say that if you got in there before it went to backorder status then you're good but if you ordered the item while it had the backorder status then it will get canceled at some point.

As I suspected - they canceled the order. The only folks that will get it at the low price will be the folks that got in on it before it went to backorder status.
