Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others

I just received an email that says:

"Orders have been processed and are shipping. There was a delay while waiting for product to arrive from a couple of studios. As noted in our shipping instructions, we can not split shipments. Thank you for your patience if you have already placed an order. Email notifications are batched overnight, you will receive an email notification the day after your order has shipped."

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others

Rec'd my order today. Kind of surprised because when I check the order status, it still says "downloaded". Never got a shipping email.

Shipped from Valencia, CA in a cardboard box on 12/12/2017. I'm in south Orange County, CA. I was able to get the Mad Men BD set. The set is wrapped in its' own brown cardboard box and says "Mad Men Coll Set BD" and there is a white sticker on the box that says "Mad Men Complete Collect BD UV".

Be patient, it seems they are shipping but not sending out the shipping emails. Sounds like a repeat of last year?

UPS was the delivery carrier.

P.S. Also got a freebie called "Eagle Vision Blu-ray Sampler" Featuring Classic Performances filmed in high definition with DTS-HD Master Audio. Artists included on the sampler include: Queen, Styx, Ted Nugent, Earth, Wind & Fire, Ray Charles, The Who and others. Running time is 155 minutes.

I just checked UPS My Choice website and it looks like I have a package coming on Dec. 20 from AMS VALENCIA, CA. I hope I get a sampler, that sounds good!

I don't have any tracking, & can't use My Choice as it seems permnantly locked to my previous address.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others

I selected my PO Box, not knowing what carrier they were using. Per tracking, it's been sitting in a UPS center about 50 miles from here for 48 hours & has not been handed off to the postal service.

I used to like UPS. I would now rank them a distant 3rd after USPS & Fed Ex. They've made a number of mistakes on packages for me in the last 2 months.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others

WARNING: If anyone else shipped to a PO Box; EAA didn't not select the UPS->USPS option. In my case, UPS found an address I USED to live at & that's where without contacting me they sent it. If you used a PO Box, you may want to call UPS..................

This will likely be my only EAA order EVER, as the only way to contact them is by an email that takes about a week to get a reply. Right now it's 50/50 whether I'll get it, as UPS is more concerned with red tape than solving the problem.

EAA makes no statement on the site that a PO Box is a problem.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others

Received my order this evening. A nice surprise was that one movie which receipt said was sold out between the time I put it in my cart and time I placed my order was included in my package. "Mr. Deeds Goes To Town" was the version with booklet instead of the plain blu ray case that is currently sold. Everything arrived in good condition.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others

No sampler or out of stock title here.

And I'm still peeved that eight things went out of stock between shopping and ordering. Then four more as I argued with my bank over debit card issues.

Weird note from a friend, though - he ordered "the 25th anniversary blu-ray of the crap Buffy" and received "the full series boxset of the TV show" instead....

Does your PO allow Street Addressing for your PO Box and allow it to act like an apartment address in the eyes of USP/FEDEX. It's free and it seems to make things easier though it still may not help if UPS has your name branded incorrectly in their system. I actually don't think UPS is as much an issue these days since they are partners with the Surepost/ Mail Innovation anyway, but for other places that refuse to ship to PO Boxes at all it's a wonderful thing. I don't know if all PO allow this though

101 Main St (whatever the street address of the Post Office is)
Unit xxxx
City/St. Zip Code
Don't know but I frequently receive UPS/Smart post packages at the po box. UPS told me the issue was the shipper's fault.

I'm supposed to get mine today. My house is hard to find & UPS usually comes after dark, so it's often an ordeal. Hoping for the best............

Arrived. All good. I got the sampler also. I've never had UPS show up at 8:30 PM before. I moved about 18 months ago; I think the local UPS has issues!

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others

I've never had after 5 pm deliveries until my move last year. Guess I was previously lucky.

Turns out my 1 Criterion blu was a floater & a bit scratched; playing ok so far. I'm only going to complain (due to the low price) if I encounter a playback error.

12/16 - Shipped notice
12/18 - Moved on
12/19 - Arrived at Compton, Ca

No other updates, but still scheduled to be delivered on 12/26.
I have my doubts. Also a banner saying wildfires causing delays on UPS site.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others

They seem to have updated some of the website. The dates of the sale are still last year's dates but the selection of titles seems to have been updated. No sold out titles listed which were there yesterday. Lots $1, $2, $3, and $4 titles. A few items have no prices yet. No Criterions. Who knows if this will be the list for this year or the final prices. Selection seems weak but prices good. The DVD Complete Big Love series $5.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others

I could be wrong, but I think all they did so far was remove the sold out items and reprice the remaining stock. Hopefully they add new stock in a few days. The new prices are pretty good on a number of items.
