DEEP DISCOUNT countdown to Black Friday 2014

Each day for the next 10 days there is a new set of deals. They say the deals will change every day and only be good for that one day. These include blu-rays, DVDs and CDs in the list, so it kinda belongs here. Some good deals

For 11/21/2014:
http://www.deepdiscount.com/web-bust...nov-21/b137650
BD:
Dirty Dozen - 4.99
Vikings S2 - 19.99

DVD
Friends Complete Series - 60.99
Newhart S4 - 8.99
LA Law 6.99
Law & Order: Criminal Intent - the Sixth Year - 6.99

About 25 items in all. Hard to get free shipping. I'd really like to get LA Law and Newhart, but I may wait for the complete series set (esp. on Newhart)...

That is a pretty good price on Vikings, only bettered by Foxconnect's 50% off sale. The best deal is White Queen for $15.99. That is the cheapest I've ever seen it.

Witness for the Prosecution is also a good deal at $10.99. The White Queen will be $9.99 on black friday at Best Buy, so I can wait on that one.

If The White Queen really is $9.99, I'll be grabbing it. Almost grabbed it today for $15.99, but then remembered I'd have to pay for shipping unless I bought something else. ;-(

I don't see anything there that indicates that these will be $9.99 on Black Friday.

Re: DEEP DISCOUNT countdown to Black Friday 2014

The Truman Show received a pretty terrible Blu-ray with distorted geometry, though it is never going to get remastered. The real gem in today's bunch is The Swimmer. Starring Burt Lancaster, it is one of the best-looking catalog transfers I've seen this year.

Re: DEEP DISCOUNT countdown to Black Friday 2014

Most of the history on this is in another thread, but it's really more on topic here.

Placed a sale order with 3 titles, 5 pieces about a week ago. They've so far cancelled 2 of the title & have never gotten the title in I really wanted that was released on Monday.

I just wrote them asking when the "backordered" item (that they obviously never got in) would be available & reminding them of the 10% discount I'm supposed to get (the way the invoice reads, it would be very easy for a clerk to miss the discount when the do the final billing).

I'm not at all surprised (it's WORTHLESS DD, after all), but I am getting quite irritated.

Re: DEEP DISCOUNT countdown to Black Friday 2014

After two days, I think it is probable that every day (or however long this runs) there will be a catalog title from a smaller label (Kino, Olive etc) that will be on sale. There will also be a TV series on sale along with a cheapie catalog title for $5. I'll be on the lookout in the next few days to see which catalog title from the smaller niche label will be sale daily.

Re: DEEP DISCOUNT countdown to Black Friday 2014

Sales for Nov 23
http://www.deepdiscount.com/web-bust...nov-23/b137652

LA Law S2 is not even 6.99 like the other 2 seasons the past couple of days (of course different days, so I had to pass)

and KK vs. Godzilla is not twice as much as it was only a month ago!!

Some decent deals though ...

Re: DEEP DISCOUNT countdown to Black Friday 2014

If you like unheralded Spaghetti Westerns, The Big Gundown Blu-ray for $15.99 is a very good deal. Lee Van Cleef stars in it and the set is expensive because it come with 4 discs, including a CD and two BDs.

Most of these are actually cheaper (by $.75) at DVDPlanet right now using the KRYPTON coupon code

Re: DEEP DISCOUNT countdown to Black Friday 2014

They still haven't shipped my Forbidden Hollywood 8. I finally got a generic form letter in response to my inquiry. I'm hoping to find a comparable price elsewhere & cancel the DD order. I really want the factory pressed 1st edition, as I have the other 7.

They just haven't gotten the stock from Warner yet. Do you know that you would have gotten it any faster (or yet) if you had ordered direct from WB Shop?

It's actually easier for me to buy it on Deep Discount since I only really want Out of the Past. Plus I only have to hit $25 for FS as opposed to $35 on DVDPlanet.

WAC claims it's in stock & ships in no more than 3 bus days.
