Target Ad 2/2 - 2/8 - $10 newer release blu rays

These have been confirmed for $10 since some stores have already received the new sale signs

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters 2D
The Croods 2D
Turbo 2D
Man of Steel 2D
The Wolverine 2D
Pacific Rim 2D
We're the Millers
Fruitvale Station
Bad Grandpa

According to the front of the ad, there may be more (can't tell from the cover art if it's Blu Ray or DVD, but may include Despicable Me 2, F&F 6, Captain Phillips, Escape Plan, The Butler)

Bad Grandpa cheap this quickly? This sounds too good to be true... I wonder if they used the wrong products in the picture...

Wow, I might have to go with 4 or 5 of these:
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (Never seen it)
Despicable Me 2 (Never seen it)
F&F 6 (Never seen it)
Captain Phillips (Loved it)

Good sale. They are trying to get customers back.

Aren't these sales set many months in advance though? I doubt they could have retro-fitted a sale ad that fast. Besides, I don't think running a half-dozen or so Blu-Rays for $10 is going to grab a large enough general audience.

Yup, release dates and price drops are planned months in advance. Media sales are plunging and its not like these are all classics that merit a sustained release day high price. I still don't know who purchases these on release day for $25. Pacific Rim was already $7.99 during BF. But the bottomline is that media sales are low and this is the only way for them to dump millions of commercially pressed titles. If (m)any of you are like me, $9.99 is STILL on the higher end - my limit is $4.99 and I am willing to wait :-)

I wonder if there's a chance any of the 3D discs will be on sale. I'd like to get The Wolverine but want the 3D version as it has the extended cut. May pick up Bad Grandpa and We're The Millers. Also will get The Escape Plan and Fast & Furious 6 if they're included.

The 3D Wolverine is an extended cut? How did I not know this? Thankfully I haven't picked any of them up yet.

Over in the DVD section JohnIan says "The ad reads 'hundreds of movies, CDs and books' for ten dollars".

Not quite, the 3D itself is the theatrical cut, but there's a 2D extended cut that's only available in the 3D combo pack.

One of the stores I went to yesterday had The Wolverine with the bonus content on clearance for $6.xx. Regular edition was still full price. I picked up a copy and will return my other copy I bought last month for $10. As much as I would like to have the uncut version, I couldn't justify spending an extra $15 or so just to buy the 3D version with it included. But I might still swing by Family Video to pick up the unrated version for $7.99.

With all these great prices on new releases, why the hell is Iron Man 3 still pushing $30?\
I liked the movie, but it's more of a $15 like.

Disney seems to be following the same pricing model with the Marvel films as they do with their animated classics, in that they almost never go on sale.

If you don't mind used, I picked up a copy at Family Video with the slipcover for $7.99

I know. I'm still holding out for an IM3 3D deal, which has never happened, not even during release week. I already got a Thor Dark World bargain from CH, and bought The Wolverine for a decent price. But IM3 is eluding me...

That sucks, so the theatrical in the 3D copy is only 3D or can it be viewed regularly? I'd like the extended version in the 3D copy but would like a copy of the theatrical cut too but don't really care for 3D viewing.

I'd pick up Despicable Me and FF6 if they are indeed the Blu-rays.

It's a 4 disc set. The 3D disc is the theatrical cut, which can only be viewed in 3D. The set includes the 2D versions of theatrical and extended versions of the film on separate discs, plus the bonus disc.

Surprisingly good, I blind bought it over the holidays. And I was really surprised it was done by Chris Sanders, the same guy who did Lilo & Stitch.

oh I forgot that fact -

someone posted the Target ad (in picture form) up on over at blu-ray.com - I can't attach it here as it only displays text and not the actual advert graphics), but he does mention this:

Note: Blu-ray/DVD/UV Combo packs shown for $10 are as follows: The Wolverine, Man of Steel, Turbo, The Croods, and Bad Grandpa. The exact list of blus on sale may not be known until Sunday 2/2 unless someone that works for Target lets us know ahead of time. Most movies in the ad are DVD only
