Fringe $75 Chuck $72 Complete Series Amazon Deal of Day

11/7 only. Not as good as the price error for Fringe several months ago.

Sorry made an error in title should be $76 for Fringe.

How much was the pricing error?

What are people's thoughts on this series? I watched the first few episodes and thought it was decent but haven't returned to it since.

Fringe was $14.99 at the WB Shop. Obvious pricing error, but they honored it. Show's been okay so far, I'm about halfway into the series.

I liked FRINGE, but probably not enough to invest in the set (I never thought the episodes were that re-watchable). Never watched CHUCK...good blind buy or another series that I'll probably only watch once?

I liked Chuck except for the last season which I thought was unwatchable. It was a good show when the Chuck was a nerd. As the show progressed and he became more accomplished it became less enjoyable.

Debating on Fringe... is the BR that much better than the DVD version? Been looking around for some comparisons but haven't been able to find anything yet.

Neither series really holds replay for me. I only own Fringe because of the WB Shop pricing error back in June (which resulted in my credit card being stolen, so not worth it in the end).

However, I think this is the cheapest they've been so far. I believe Chuck is on Amazon Instant if you have Prime, so maybe you can try out an episode or two before you decide.

I loved both these series when they aired. I would be in for both, if I didn't already own three seasons of each already. I also seem to remember that the Chuck blu rays left alot to be desired. Maybe I am misremembering? If not, maybe the series set is not just a packaging of the individual season sets?

Chuck is one of the best shows to ever be on TV IMO! I already own most of the seasons on DVD so it's not worth upgrading for that price....

You're right on both. Transfers on each season of Chuck were just okay. The series set is like Fringe, just the individual seasons in a box. I loved Chuck, except for that rushed last season, which is the only season I haven't bought yet. But the show is worth watching, although the HD presentations on the blu sets leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks for the input...looks like I'll pass on this set. Gotta save that money for the long stretch coming up!

Chuck is a great show that has plenty of replay value for me. Fringe is an excellent show but I haven't rewatched it.

Oddly I own both shows on BD except one season of each on DVD. It's slightly tempting to consolidate but it seems like a hassle to sell off the old ones.

Re: Fringe $75 Chuck $72 Complete Series Amazon Deal of Day

I would love to have both Fringe and Chuck on Blu. I watched all of Chuck when it aired, and as previously mentioned it did drop off significantly the last season. I watched a couple of seasons or so of Fringe, but it didn't really hold my interest after they kept going back and forth to a parallel reality. Both are available on Netflix so I'll watch them there. Too pricey for me just to get the higher quality video.

Chuck was a light comedy with its first two seasons being its strongest. The show kind of meandered in its latter seasons. Even though I really liked it in stretches, I couldn't recommend a blind buy of the complete series.

Was pretty sure that was the case. I loved Chuck during the early seasons. Especially the Buy More stuff. Having worked at a store very similar to the Buy More, alot of the antics seemed very familiar. Not the secret CIA base in the basement, but a bunch of other stuff. We definitely had a "Jeff" in our store. Black Fridays were insane as well, but our code word was not "Pineapple".
I have been going through the seasons again, and I do enjoy it as much as I did originally. I do need to get the last couple of seasons though to finish out the set.

I rewatched season 1 & 2 of Chuck over the summer. Tremendous replay value.

IIRC, it's the way the show was shot, not the transfers.
