Walmart.com Gone Crazy

You might want to venture over to www.walmart.com . They have to be experiencing a sitewide glitch because they currnetly have insane prices on many items, including Blu-rays and video games. Many things are out of stock, but you might be able to print out the price and get a price match at Best Buy or Target. I was able to order the following---

GTA V $18.03
Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Extended Trilogy $11.87
Clannad Complete Collection $11.87
Clannad After Story $11.87
Spice and Wolf Complete Collection $11.87
Dance in the Vampire Bund $11.87
Casablanca 70th Gift Set $11.87
Rome Complete Series $11.87
Torchwood Complete UK Collection $11.87

Happy hunting.

Dead. I was able to get in to the site through a backend by a Google search but when I tried clicking on a product the site stalls. Oh well.

Re: Walmart.com Gone Crazy

Thanks for the heads up. While I missed the GTA V one, I was able to pick up the Casablanca set. There's also some good prices on 3D blu's, Gnomeo & Juliet, Fright Night, Ice Age Dawn of the Dinos 3D, and several others are $11.87 each. And damn, the Cars 3 movie collector's set was the same price, but sold out online. Still looking around...

Was able to order Torchwood, Rosemary's Baby & Robinson Crusoe on Mars for $11.87 each from my mobile phone. Have not received an email confirmation but it shows up in my order history as being processed.

Re: Walmart.com Gone Crazy

It looks like they have corrected all of the prices. Hopefully they will ship out already placed orders.

Yup, made it to the cart with $1000 price tag in my cart. Everything's reverted back to normal.

Re: Walmart.com Gone Crazy

Just received this cancellation email from Walmart:

Dear Customer,

Last night and this morning we experienced a technical error that caused many items to show incorrect pricing. We are working to quickly resolve the issue. Unfortunately, given the wide discrepancy in pricing, we have canceled your order.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and will be sending you an email with a $10 e-gift card (one per customer) within the next 5 days. We appreciate your business and look forward to you visiting walmart.com again soon.

Sincerely,
Your Walmart.com Customer Service Team

Expected it.

Same here. I had an order for one game and received the email. Never expected it to go through, so $10 is better than nothing.

I got the same email tonight after ordering about $50 worth of Ninjago Legos for the kid for Christmas this morning... oh well.

I'll take the $10 e-card.

Funny thing is I got a bunch if shipping notices for the items I ordered. 4 of the 6 shipped already. Weird.

One of the news reports that I saw said WM was going to review all the orders and try to make good on some of them. No other details were given, but I'm guessing they know how some people will be annoyed, even with the $10, and might fulfill some where they might not lose much, break even, or maybe have excess inventory. Congrats.

Just got the e gift card. Nice that you can have it scanned and use it in store.

That's surprising and nice that it works in store. I finally managed to place 1 order for 2 console games I didn't care about much. I finally got an in-store pickup ready, went to the store, and they said at that very moment they got a memo saying no more, and they told me to take a hike. They had no problem honoring 55" Samsung LED smart TVs for $329, $8.87 27" computer monitors, or $33.16 treadmills all day long out the wazoo for everyone else, but the moment I show up for 2 stupid consoles games for $18.03 each (which I guarantee will be under $18.03 within a year)... call the army, call the marines, call the national guard! We can't allow that!

I'm wondering if my $10 GC will ever show up. Probably not automatically. $10 barely covers my time wasted going to Walmart as I didn't have anything to buy that day (including food which is what I buy at Walmart 95% of the time). Then if you really want to be disgusted you should find the old thread which has become a Craigslist bragging session with people posting pictures of the dozens of 55" TVs, Disney Infinitys, monitors, exercise equipment they bought dirt cheap from Walmart and are reselling for 2-3x what they paid on Craigslist or eBay. I've always thought Craigslist and even Slickdeals.net should be renamed to FlippersHeaven or ResellersHeaven (or Haven).

Re: Walmart.com Gone Crazy

While I have not received my giftcard yet, I did check my WM account last night and it shows a $10 goodwill giftcard. So I assume it is coming. Just too many people to send these out to.

The rest of my order shipped and I got the gift card today too... bonus for me... but then again, I didn't abuse the system, the things that I ordered were well within the limits of a "regular" price.

What should I get now?
