Not related to the sale, but I figure I'd post it here. Groupon has the Amityville Horror Trilogy on sale for the next 10 days for $34.99 plus tax.

Shit, I am so mad I missed this thread before today. I would have definitely picked up both The Fog and The Howling.

Edit: Well, The Fog and Prince of Darkness are both $17 and change at Amazon. Nabbed them.

I know this was mentioned in the Vincent Price DOTD thread and probably deserves it own thread, but blowitoutahere currently has a 15% off coupon(COLUMBUS13) for orders of $25 or more.

They have some pretty good prices on their Shout/Scream Factory BD horror titles. But unlike the Scream Factory sale, this one includes recently released and pre-orders also.

I put in two separate orders the other day and have received shipping confirmations on two of the four titles.

Order #1
Day of the Dead(back ordered)
Psycho III(shipped)

Order #2
Vincent Price Collection(shipped)
Amityville Horror Trilogy(backordered)

Back on topic, I already own the Arrow release of The Funhouse but have yet to watch it. Anyone know how this release compares with to the Arrow one?

Nabbed the Amityville Groupon deal, just to get the first 80s 3D movie released on 3D Blu-Ray (thanks for NOTHING Paramount/Warner!) Amazon price is $59.99, if Scream Factory puts that on sale themselves I can't see it going that low.

If you're talking about the UK release - it has quite a few more extras than Shout Factory. Check the DVDTalk review section for a comparison.

I lent out my Lifeforce DVD to a co-worker who later quit, so I guess that will justify this BD purchase. Love that film.

the dvd was also non-anamorphic so that alone is worth it

Re: Scream Factory October Daily Sale

In for Lifeforce, and if I didn't already have Vampire Lovers it would be a no-brainer at the price.

I also ordered Prince of Darkness from Amazon yesterday. The extra buck was worth not gambling on whether or not it would be part of the Scream sale.

I don't think Warner is really to blame for Friday the 13th Part 3 not being in 3D Blu-ray. They're just licensing the Friday the 13th films from Paramount so I'm sure they're just using whatever they were given rather than investing money in a new 3D restoration. We've seen them in the past re-do older 3D films (the Vincent Price House of Wax just came out from them for instance).

Also dammit, I missed two titles I had hoped to get a decent deal on yesterday (Funhouse and Terror Train). Oh well I guess.

You could pick those up for around the same price through the Blowitoutahere sale.

As far as the Scream sale, still waiting on my copy of The Howling to ship.

Amazon dropped the price of the Amityville set to $39.99, for those so inclined:

Re: Scream Factory October Daily Sale

I received shipping confirmations last night for The Burning, Halloween III, Terror Train and The Funhouse. I'm a very happy guy. I was a bit nervous on when I might receive Halloween III because I received an email earlier in the day that it was backordered. I guess they found some.

Not fond of the cardboard shipping envelopes they're using to ship these. Had a couple arrive with damaged slipcovers. I generally don't keep slipcovers anyway, but others might want to adjust expectations slightly.

Wish these guys would take on Hellraiser III or the first three movies, even.

Same here, but I've luckily had my slipcovers undamaged from the packaging. Got The Fog and The Howling in today. (And got the Vincent Price Collection in today as well! Yay me!)

I received my copy of They Live earlier this week but still haven't received a shipping notice for The Fog yet.
