I just received mine and it came shipped in a polybag. I can't believe they shipped it in that. It was not in pristine condition.

They also have Full Metal Jacket digibook for 14.99. I used an emailed 15 percent coupon before I saw how they shipped Blade Runner.

Yep, that happened before. I ordered Citizen Kane, it came all banged up, it cost me $3 to ship it back to them. I think when you order 1, they use poly. I ordered 3 criterion BDs, they shipped in a cardboard box.

Other than the fact that it's only 3 discs and is a digibook?

The contents should be basically the same. The Final Cut BD and the BD with US/International/Director's Cuts should be identical. The main difference is that the Work Print BD and the 2 extras DVD's have all been combined onto one blu ray disc. According to one review I found all the old SD content is still SD but there is apparently a new HD image gallery not on the old set. The old 5 disc set was 3 BDs and 2 DVDs and the new set is 3 BDs. I have the old briefcase set but I'm a sucker for this film and digibooks. So for $8 and change with a 20% coupon, I'll bite.

I think the Work Print version also got its audio upgraded from DD5.1 to DTS-MA.

None in stock at the stores in my area, according to the web site... does B&N even stock movies anymore? Rather than risk a beat-up copy thru the mail, I was able to price match at Frys. Thanks, OP!

Hope that's true. I ordered one with a 15% off and 2 other BDs for free shipping. I don't know if I really want those other BDs, but we'll see .

In general? Five:

Workprint Version
Theatrical Version
International Version
Director's Cut
Final Cut

As for blu-ray, the digibook is at least the fifth release (after the limited edition briefcase, 5-disc Collector's Edition, The Final Cut and 30th Anniversary gift set).

Hmm, very tempting, especially with in-store pick-up so close to me. Might have to bite on this, though I haven't really watched my DVD more than once or twice. But the reviews say it looks so good on blu-ray. Hmm...

^ Likely that this offer is only online. With store pick-up, you pay the store price (which, BTW, is probably still $34.99).

Saw this earlier today with a 30% off sale sticker. The regular price was $19.99 so in store it should be $13.99 + tax for those that are interested.

Yeah, I saw that in-store pick-up would end up being $20, which is less than $34.99 but still. And the two stores it listed as having it in stock then said they checked inventory and it's actually not in stock, sorry.

That's still a dollar more than buying it online and paying shipping ($12.97).

I never understood why B&M B&N won't price match its own website. Very frustrating. Any chance of getting Best Buy (perhaps even for in-store pick-up) or Amazon to price match this?

$13.99 at my local BN; wouldn't honor website pricing.

I ordered it last night using a 15% off coupon, $9 and change shipped (I'm a member). If it arrives banged up, I'll try to exchange in-store.

My local B&N still stocks movies. It has a fairly large media area with sections for CDs, TV on DVD, films on DVD, BluRays, and Criterion Collection BluRays. I'm going to swing by this week and see if I can find this, because I don't want to risk damage through shipping.

Well shit. I did the in store hold as well, but I'm not going to waste my time if they won't pricematch their own website. Maybe Amazon will match later this week.

Re: Blade Runner: 30th Anniversary Edition Digibook $9.99

Last night after reading this thread I saw the WB Shop Black Friday in August thread and they have the 5 disc blu-ray set for $16 and change. For just a few dollars more, I went with that instead of the 3 disc digibook.

They didn't have the specs on the 5 disc set so I don't know if it has the thousand or so digital pictures that the 3 disc has but I'd rather have the set I got for a very similar price.

Same here; my B&N has a rather large selection of DVDs and blu-rays, probably twice the size of Best Buy's, but it's mostly deserted. Hardly any people back there shopping or browsing.

Of course, I rarely see people shopping or browsing in the book section, either.

Come to think of it, I have no idea how that place stays open.
