Re: 10% off at ImportCDs

For those who don't know, ImportCDs' prices on Olive blu-rays are usually the lowest available ($14.43 most of the time for single disc releases). The 10% isn't a huge amount but effectively wipes out the $1.49 shipping charge per item (the charge is more for box sets).

They also have decent prices on Kino, Shout! Factory, and possibly other boutique label releases (The Look, the Charlotte Rampling documentary, is $10.89 on blu, the lowest I've seen).

Also, for those who missed the just ended Warner Archives sale (five archive titles for $50), ImportCDs has many of these for $9.89 each. With discount and shipping, this is $10.39 each, still not quite as good, but one doesn't have to buy five.

Re: 10% off at ImportCDs

The best deals are probably on CDs from the smaller labels. Amazon has long stopped discounting independent labels and this coupon is just about the best way to buy independent and niche CDs. Be careful on larger multi-disc sets, ImportCDs charges an extra fee for bulky items.

Please post some good bargains. I checked out a couple of titles and the deal is only ok once you figure in shipping, handling and, for me, that g.d. tax.

Right now they have Mondo Macabro DVDs at a huge discount, most of them are ~$11 before the coupon. Good discounts on Raro Video titles too.

And yes, great prices on Kino right now.

Re: 10% off at ImportCDs

Picked up the Forbidden Hollywood sets. After shipping and discount, they either came out to $25 or $30. $10 cheaper than anywhere else. Blind buys for all 4 sets but I can't rent them so it should be worth it. If I hate them I'll put them on amazon and recoup my money so I'm happy.

Also picked up a few shout factory blu-rays for $15 after discount and shipping.

Is Mondo Macabro still in business? I just wonder if some of these sale titles from them will come out on Blu one of these days.

Re: 10% off at ImportCDs

I'll give them a shot since they do Paypal, the 10% also counts for pre-orders (note: they only let you pre-order items that are within 30 days of release even though they do list others).

In the Cut/Trapped $3.59
Police Story 1/2 $9.89
Kentucky Fried Movie $11.06
----
Shipping 4.47
Handling $1.50
----
Total = $30.51

The Brain [Blu-Ray]
Hit! (1973)
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1956)
Pursued (1947)
A Double Life

Force Of Evil (1948)
Overland Stage Raiders (1938)
Monsieur Gangster (1963)
Great Spy Chase (1964)
Ticks (1993)
It's In The Bag! (1945)

Re: 10% off at ImportCDs

Received my first shipment from my first order from this company. My order was broken up due to a 5-10 day wait on a kino blu and an olive blu. So far so good but sheesh shipping seemed to take a while for this order. I ordered on the 17th, last day of sale, and it ships from CA, which is a bit away; I understand these things probably impacted me getting my stuff. I guess I'm spoiled by Amazon, but supersaver shipping seems to be quicker than what I just paid for; large corporation vs. small company? Anyway, anyone else waiting out a 5-10 day wait from the sale? Anybody with a prior history have any predictions if I'll get the rest of my stuff by mid-month or earlier? Thanks in advance.

Re: 10% off at ImportCDs

I actually thought my orders came in pretty fast. By Tuesday I had both boxes and everything except the lone pre-order.

Just regretting now I never got a third order off. I would have definitely ordered more Olive titles. An extra $1.50 isn't huge- but it adds up over the course of a big order.

Here's my experience:
My order arrived after close to 2 weeks in shipping from the west coast to the east coast. Everything was crammed into too small of a box and the result was that it was rounded on both sides from the bubble packs they stuffed in, which in turn warped the cases slightly.

On a smaller note, Halloween III had no slip (not a dealbreaker as I'm not a slip fanatic, but since all my other Scream discs that are supposed to have them have them it is a bit annoying).

Re: 10% off at ImportCDs

I got my order in 2 parts. The first shipment was dropped at my door for some reason, and then it poured, ruining the package. One of the slipcases was ruined. I tried reaching out to importcds about it, and after multiple emails, have received no response. Can't find a CS number - anyone have one?

Re: 10% off at ImportCDs

Thanks for the replies Paul_SD, Brooklyn and efordvt!

My final 2 blus shipped today, so looks like my worries were for not. If history repeats itself this final package should appear in my mailbox on July 6th, and if this order reaches me safely I'll be confident ordering from them in the future.
