What was the promotion?

Kinda dumb if it's the same promotion, since it's advertised on the front page of the site. (unless maybe the expiration date is different?)

I was lucky to sell off all my LDs before the market went bust. But I learned my lesson and it's the reason why I don't buy overpriced Blus such as those released by Twilight Time and Olive. I don't mind some Criterions because they will hold their value longer than bare bones, "limited edition" Blus that these other so called boutique labels release. When I see the prices for the latter I can't help but think of them sitting on a shelf gathering dust in years to come. It's one thing to buy a Blu for five bucks and have it go obsolete, but I'm definitely drawing the line on how much more I spend for this stuff.

Gracing the space next to it is an unopened package of the XBOX HD-DVD add on :-) I do have a about 45 HD DVD titles that I still enjoy - my first Planet Earth series was the HD-DVD version too !! It still looks good, I gave away all my duplicate titles of 300, Tomb Raider etc that they kept giving away with the hardware and still am left with a ton of them :-) and finally I have an unopened box of a Yamaha CD Writer from 2001 when then they debuted the much vaunted Disc T@too technology (anyone remember that ?)
LOL, I think those are the same models I have as well, except for the writer. HD-DVD shall live on through people like us!!! Some of the discs look beautiful! No reason not to play em! I never bought Laser Discs, thank goodness. Well, I do have ROTJ on Laser Disc, which I got for free, just cuz I'm a Star Wars collector, but I have no intention of ever getting a player. I also have the trilogy on BETA, but have never owned a player. HD-DVD is a lot like BETA. They were the better format at the time, but they lost the war...

Nice find. Picked up:

$9.10 / $12.99 - The Simpsons Movie blu-ray
$9.10 / $12.99 - A Fish Called Wanda blu-ray
$7.63 / $10.99 - Whip It
$7.63 / $10.99 - Sideways
$33.56 / $47.96

All but Whip It are double dips for me but all are movies that I really enjoy and I'm excited to get them at a good price in HD. I'll especially be excited to see The Simpsons Movie in HD as it already looks amazing to me on DVD via the PS3.

I got it. It was a 10% off coupon that was not stackable with the REFUND code.

Got a ship confirmation earlier tonight on my order with Great Escape, the Verdict, and a few others. Will be nice to get these a week before they street. But I'm regretting now that I didn't toss Brubaker into the order. Especially since the BB U&S is so weak this time.

Got a shipping confirmation yesterday as well. One of mine also had a 5/7 release date, so that was cool. Should probably be here by the end of the week if I get lucky (or at least early next).

Edit: It came today, YEAHIE!

over 10 days now and I'm still waiting on my package. Looks like I'm going to get it just in time for the street dates. Even for media mail, it should have been here by now.

I also got the shipping notice for an order that including The Great Escape at about the same time you did and didn't receive it. They also charged my account. I e-mailed them and they said it hadn't shipped because Escape is being released on May 7. I e-mailed back saying they sent me a shipping notice with a tracking number ( which didn't work.) They repeated that it had not shipped yet. Today it arrived. So a few days early anyway. Your order will also probably arrive shortly if you haven't received it yet.

Re: 30% off at FoxConnect.com through 4/19

would have been nice to have it early, but at this point I just want to see them arrive intact and undamaged. It sounds like some people have managed to find TGE at Best Buy and paid $10 after the U&S. Unfortunately there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to the catalog Best Buy stocks, so I don't even bother considering them anymore. The notion of them going under used to bother a great deal- now I couldn't care less.
