Target: Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season
* Exclusive bonus Blu-Ray disc for Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo $29.99
I purchased this from one of my local Target stores, it had the "Exclusive" sticker on the package.. but no extra disc was packaged with the set.
When I call the store they were sold out of 'BluRay's!

I contacted three other local stores and they were also sold out

I have contacted the corporate office and was told to return for refund or exchange, I replied to their reply waiting for an answer...

Has anybody else run into this?

Re: Target: Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

This is not the first time I have had missing "Exclusive" disc's from packaging at a Target store.. the other times the store had a set left in stock and pulled the disc and held for me at "Customer Service", to name a few of them.. "Muppet Movie" (2011), "Castle" season 4 DVD & "Men-In-Black-3D" [3D/2D Blu-Ray].

Re: Target: Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

I've never had it happen with a bonus disc. But with GOT, it is pretty easy to see if the disc is there, since the slim case is shrinkwrapped to the back. Unless of course the case for the bonus disc is empty, but the way you explained it, nothing was packaged with the set at all, so I assume no slim case either.

Re: Target: Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

Since the bonus movie(s) have either been inside of the case and/or wrapped in the past and with the paper over lay, I just thought that the bonus was packaged inside, the store also had the disc set wrapped with a security device, did not think a thing about it till I got home. As the DVD's in this set are "Flippers" and packed inside of the set.

I thought I got a bargain, but instead, I was sent a porno called "Game of Throats" and found that the words, "Peter Dinklage" did NOT refer to the name of one of the actors!

I've come across the missing "Exclusive" from target too many times over the past years. DVDs, CDs, Blu-Rays, etc.

Not for this though. I'm curious as to what they do for you, if anything.

If nothing gets done, I would go back to the store & ask for the store manager and explain yourself. I would not accept a refund & let them well aware of it. They should give you $5 back (off your Blu-Ray)

Just an FYI, it is for sale at Amazon at the same price though without the bonus disk, which you didn't get anyway.

Re: Target: Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

Believe it or not but I've been to 5 diferent Targets in San Diego over the last 2 days (looking for thier NutriBullet), while there I of course looked over their DVDs. Not one store had the exclusive but every one was selling it for $24.99. I'm a little pissed because I ordered it from Amazon at $29.99.

But did you find the NutriBullet after searching through 5 stores?

Yes, yesterday. I'm doubting this thing is more than a very small and very expensive blender but I'm just following directions.

Re: Target: Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

Update: Since Target does not ''normally allow'' opened DVD/Blu-Rays to be returned, I was offered a special return code and CSR once verified that the box set had been returned they would then send me a Target gift card of equal value. But if I did that I would not have them money to purchase the set on sale if I could find a copy still in one of the five local Target stores, I advised CSR that I would not go to the trouble, but to please contact their distributor to insure correct packaging in the future.

Re: Target: Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

I ordered 1 online on Tuesday for delivery, and it arrived today. It was the exclusive set, though it was packaged horribly between two sticky pieces of cardboard paper, resulting in some minor creases.

The commercial told you to buy it, so you did?

I found plenty of the exclusive Target editions, sadly they were all heavily damaged by the spider-wrapping.

Re: Target: Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

I got mine tuesday. The bonus disc was an extra thin bluray case added on. It was the only one left. I was lucky. Seems they are rare or hard to get. Similar to how Walmart's season 1 bluray was packed. Can try to post a pic if needed. just let me know.

Re: Target: Game Of Thrones: The Complete Second Season

I got mine Tuesday morning at 8:00 or 8:30 am.

There was another dude picking up GoT season 2. I looked for the GoT season 1, hoping to get the version with the digital copy in it, but only rainchecks. The GoT season 2 Target-exclusive bonus disc did come in a very thin plastic case shrinkwrapped with the regular GoT Season 2 case.

If you guys are watchers of Game Of Thrones, and you really like analyzing what is going on in the show, then I would like to point you to a podcast that does a pretty decent job of (a) summarizing an episode, (b) analyzing the story so far, (c) comparing the show with the book, and (d) most importantly, not spoiling the show. The podcast is called "The Night's Watch" from the "baldmove" group. They podcast about several TV shows that I like, and GoT is one of them. Very good, but fair warning: they do use profanity.

Links are:

General link to all of their podcasts: http://baldmove.com/

Game Of Thrones podcast: http://baldmove.com/category/nights-...rones-podcast/

And of course, also available on iTunes.
