I was just browsing through the DVDTalk review of that release, how would you rate the PQ? It seems the Canadian edition of the boxset carries that version rather than the one with lossy audio.

Same here, so I just switched out the discs. Just an FYI, but when this set first came out, they had advertised Oldboy as having an HD track in error. Palisades Tartan offered to send a replacement copy of Oldboy, which was the individual 2 disc set. I already had a copy, so I ended up with an extra. Which is good I guess since it looks like Oldboy is OOP.

Same here. I was thinking about getting it @ $25, but certainly not at $40 and MOST DEFINITELY NOT at the NASA Publicly Funded price when it's out of stock. I'm just getting the Batshit Edition, which won't include the cowl, but will include the discs.

Hmm there are times I like my cell phone and others times I don't.

I was talking about Daimajin set for $8.07 (it could have been more but I know it was under $9). What I was asking is what makes the Vengeance Trilogy so special? I did not know about Daimajin before someone told me about it.

It's made by one of the best filmmakers around right now? Great acting, stories, concepts are very unique, Koreans do stuff differently, and at times better? The list goes on and on. Park Chan-wook is a very exciting director. Subject matter aside they're just fucking good movies. They may hit beats (some more than others) that disturb you or don't attract you due to subject matter and how it's done. BUT...they're very fresh and bold. That's enough to get any film lover's attention.

If you really like this series, I'd consider getting the individual releases, unless "they" fixed the audio on Oldboy. The single release was fine, but apparently, in the set, the DTS-MA audio was dropped, reportedly for a 3-hour documentary. Not sure if this was the reason, but DTS-MA is not on Oldboy in the set.

Not that you could use it on Amazon, but the UPS Store (at least the one by me) has $3 coupons for Arthur Christmas at the front counter.
