Re: Best Buy Ad 11/25/12 - 12/1/12

these places make me sick. i went on Black Friday to buy Nurse Jackie: Seasons 1 & 2 for $7.99 each, said they had them in stock, but when I got there, there were none. Said the comps had a hard time keeping up & may have been sold. Now that the sale is over, they had about 5 copies each of them on the shelves today at $19.99 each. I swear they just put these things on sale to lurer people there, then when you get there, there aren't any. Kind of weird how they magically got 5 of each over the weekend. So now I'm gonna do what I should have done, go through Amazon.

That B&M holiday sale stuff is way too hit and miss to get me to play. If I don't make a move on their website for store pickup, I'm not setting foot in one of their locations.

This online thing is the sure bet for pricing during this weeklong timeframe, as long as you do your part.

I hate movies being released on Friday. At least i noticed MIB 3 will be Friday this time unlike when Spiderman came out a few weeks ago.

Where did you get the Tennant DVD box for that price?

I now have Series 5 and 6, but looking to backfill the rest of them. I have been tempted by the Doctor Who: Limited Edition Gift Set DVD that I have seen for $189.99 in a few Best Buy stores.

One of the major issues I've encountered at any Best Buy store, is the lack of putting out stock that is just sitting in the back room. Rarely I've had a rep who will actually take the time to go in back and take a look. This is the bottleneck when any kind of popular sale happens.

The Complete Tennant Years boxed set was an Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day several weeks ago.

exactly - my BB store has carts full of hundreds of titles just sitting there Sunday mornings. This shit needs to be OUT and ready for sale come Sunday morning - there are no excuses for this

That's their plan...lure people in with $8 Nurse Jackie sets and then hide them.

The rep knows me pretty well and does go back to look for stuff I request. Oftentimes it's the fault of management who do not adequately inform the reps of sales, etc. I can't tell you how many times I tell her of promos/products that she is not even aware of.

This may be the first steelbook I pass on since I started buying them. Not a huge MIB fan and it really doesn't look that good anyway. Nothing else for me this week ... finally.

Picked up Doctor Who complete S5 and S6 for $19.99 each.

Just a quick note: Some of the Doctor Who S5 cases had "Limited Edition Collectible Package" plus "3 exclusive art cards inside" label on the shrink wrap.

The "Limited Edition Collectible Package" is a lenticular cover on the box. Looks pretty cool.

Picked up Doctor Who S6. Had to get them to look in back because they had no S5 & S6 out on the shelves.

Tarantino, are you still working at Bestbuy? I think what you have posted makes sense given that you have first hand experience as an associate there

I don't see anything in that sale that I really want. Spent enough money on BF that I'm not buying anything else for awhile unless I REALLY want it. -kd5-

Re: Best Buy Ad 11/25/12 - 12/1/12

went in for mib steelbook and they tried charging me 35$for it as I already had to deal with bs from a employee pissed I dare asked him about a new release thats not out at 4pm on release day I didn't bother showing them the ad cause getting them to adjust prices means me dealing with the shitty CS desk.

it annoys me that the best buy on my way to work is so shitty. The next closest one has amazing CS but is 25 minutes in the opposite direction of my job. o well on my day off ill swing by them and see if they have it

To be fair, those kind of statements/rants are common around the Bargain forums on DVDTalk.

Pretty normal stuff!

Re: Best Buy Ad 11/25/12 - 12/1/12

Does anyone know if the MIB3 STEELBOOK (BLU) includes a DVD copy as well? BESTBUY.com has it listed for just $19.99 but does not mention anything about being a combo pack. However the BB ad clearly says COMBO PACK on the top in blue. If anyone has an online link to reserve it at a BEST BUY, please post. I am hesitant to do it just yet w/out making sure so thanks in advance if someone knows...

Yes, I have the set. I bought it last year when it was $19.99. They also have commentaries on parts 2 and 3 which weren't included on the DVD.
