Re: Amazon 6/7/12 DOTD - Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection $26

I'd like all of the Star Trek movies, but I'm hesitant to get just the TNG movies on BD when I have all of the SE DVD editions. I'd much rather get an entire Star Trek movie pack. I've passed on numerous deals for the first 6 TOS movies on BD because of bad reviews of the transfer quality of a couple of them. I bet I'd buy this TNG set (which doesn't have any bad picture quality reviews) at $20 but at $26.49 it's just a touch too high for me.

Do people think Paramount will ever fix the transfer problems on the TOS movie BD set and release an entire Star Trek movie (1-10) BD set with the fixed versions?

I went ahead and ordered it. Using "No Rush" shipping, it's essentially $25 for me, which is about as low as I think we'll ever see this set go. Even if I could get the individual discs for $5 each, there's still the bonus disc only in this set that's probably pretty cool.

regret not getting the first 6 for 29.99 around BF.

Did pick up this set on a PM from Fry's for a little less than 20 bucks, though. Still a decent price for something Star Trek.

Pretty much in the same boat. I only have II (most replay value for me, even with the missing cut) and have held off on the set. I'm still thinking about this but I almost feel like I'd be getting the set just to have FC since I don't rewatch the others a lot.

Whether they'll redo the TOS I don't know, but I'd be surprised if they didn't rerelease these in a set with #11, especially when #12 comes out. Unless they have Christopher Nolan-type issues, that is.

I have them all but wanted the extra disk for the most part. I have to see its much better then the DVD set. More extras also, to me worth the money.

I wish the new TNG Blu-ray Season sets were this cheap.

A one-day deal for a four-movie set that came out three years ago compared to a complete season coming out for the first time?
