Back to the Future Trilogy $19.99 at Target

Went to Target a bit ago and picked up the Back to the Future Blu-Ray box set for $19.99. The shelf tag was marked at that price as well. Im not sure if its going to come up the same at all Targets, but it should since it wasn't a clearance price.

Almost definitely a mistake though so I would pick it up ASAP. A couple of weeks ago this same Target had the $16.99 American hair creme priced at $2.99 by mistake and they fixed it pretty quickly (was able to buy all they had first though)

I wouldn't assume it's a mistake. Back to the Future box has been that cheap before.

I regret not picking it up when it was $13.99 at Target in December of 2010. I thought that price was a mistake but it was on sale for the holidays.

I'll have to go out tonight or tomorrow and pick it up. I've been waiting for it to break the $20 point. I haven't seen it on sale in awhile.

Couldn't find this one on IMDB. Can you post a link to this title?

TIA!

Found 1 copy at this price in the South Hill Mall Target in Puyallup WA. Thanks much for the post!

For those of you who bought this set at Target, do they wrap them with those spider security things?

but the questions is whether it's the horrible packaging or the new packaging. The horrible packing with the DC's suck ass. There is a new one though that I believe is in a regular blu case with no DC's

I've yet to see a copy in a regular Blu-ray case. The second re-release (making it the 3rd set so far) is just a slim tri-fold packaging with the slipcover.

I figured this would start to go back on sale as we approach Father's Day. (same as last year) I've held out for the newest packaging as well - I've never seen it in stores, so I'll most likely just get it thru Amazon if they price match a sale. (they have a separate, less popular listing for the 3disc set)

Huge YMMV on this one. I hit 3 Targets tonight after work and not a single one to be found. On top of that, none of the stores even had a facing where it would be located had it been in stock previously.

Also, in checking their site, it says that neither of the releases is carried in-store. Hmmm.

It was in an odd spot, though I can't recall exactly where but was near the end. It wasn't under "B" like I thought it would be. They had a couple of copies in the spot I found it and it was marked with a $19.99 facing.

Re: Back to the Future Trilogy $19.99 at Target

I searched every inch of the BD/DVD aisles at the 3 I visited. Not much rhyme or reason to their layout with titles in odd locations. Still, no BttF sets. :(

Re: Back to the Future Trilogy $19.99 at Target

I feel more pathetic than those that went to 3 stores. I went to 7 different stores -- because I had nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon -- and of all of all seven stores, only one even had a shelf tag for it (but of course it was sold out!). This is a huge YMMV. Target must be phasing it out (although it was funny that all of them had the Blu-ray ads playing on loop in the video section, and BTTF was one of the movies).

A whole day wasted and nothing to show for it except this lousy photo of empty shelf space.

Went to three Targets but only one had a copy but it was still at 56.99. So, I don't know what's up in my neck of the woods.

I'm in Sacramento -- which Target? If it it's one that's closer to me than Davis I'll check it out. I just hope it's not one of the 7 I already went to.

The picture I took of the $19.99 tag is at the one in Lincoln. The Citrus Heights, Roseville (both of them), Auburn, Yuba City, and Rancho Cordova stores didn't have a place for it on the shelf.

Re: Back to the Future Trilogy $19.99 at Target

Being in Davis I usually just stay within the Woodland, Davis, Vacaville trifecta. Everyone once in awhile I'll go to the Truxel rd. shopping center for the B&N criterion sale. This one lone copy was at the Target in Vacaville, I only made the trek today because the BB in Vacaville had Psycho on blu which the lame Woodland one didn't. Nice to find a fellow bargain hunter in similar parts.

I used to live in Natomas so a lot of times I'd go to the Woodland store when it first opened just because the Natomas store turned in to such a squalid hellhole. I hate going in that plaza.

I'll make a trip to Vacaville this weekend but I'll make sure to call first just to make sure it's still in stock. Did you try scanning it to see what price came up? I think the $19.99 is a universal price drop to move it off of the shelf.

Re: Back to the Future Trilogy $19.99 at Target

I went to the same Target from the original post today. They didn't have any more BTTF sets but it's space on the shelf had been remarked to $56.99. So im guessing the deal is over.

Sorry to McFly and any others I sent running all over the place, didn't mean to send you all on a wild goose chase.

Thanks for the update. I guess I'll just have to wait for it to go on sale another time.

Not a big deal. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt occasionally. :D

this is still going on, at least at my Target. saw 2 in the nice, big clear containers and not spider wrap with the $19.99 tag underneath. didn't have any interest as i have it. but, great price.
