Yes, I exaggerated when I said teens - they might be in their 20's but nevertheless act like annoying teens while 'busy' with their own 'its like...I am like...no way' conversation qualifiers. And I think its the age where you get a kick out of being in control. I agree with their intent to enforce store policies but it should be accompanied by a knowledge of the whole process. While enforcing the 'can't combine with other offers' on the U&S coupon, you gotta be aware of manufacturer coupon policies. The fact that you don't understand nor make an effort to but stick to your enforcement of a policy just by being on the other side of the counter makes a bad impression on the business in hiring these kids but not imparting enough knowledge of the retail business to them. Its like hiring temps to just ring up a transaction. I have no beef with these kids - its Best Buy's fault, not theirs.
EDIT: and I completely agree with the philosophy of going into the store expecting to be denied. that way when accepted, you walk out with a smile. and if not, you walk out with a smile at their stupidity. Win/win for me cos another store is no more than a few miles away (unless closing). I don't even argue anymore

I went in yesterday, traded in 3 DVDs, but bought only 1 BD. The clerk did not strike off the DVD from my trade-in receipt--do I still have 3 DVD credits, or do the coupons have a stored value that is removed when they are scanned? It would be nice to recoup the credit I lost through clerical incompetence last time.

When I bought my last 4 items a few days ago, the clerk almost forgot to destroy my receipt and wasn't even paying attention to it when he bagged my stuff and I could have snagged it. But I reminded him to take it and destroy it. I'm way too honest to do something like that.

Order of coupons--have them scan the upgrade and save coupon first then have them scan the manufacturer's coupon.
You should probably request that they do separate transactions for each (Descendants and whatever Uni Bluray you hope to buy).

So I did my last 4 today, all with movie cash as I didn't really need anything else.
I am then going to trade them into amazon for credit.
End result - bought 4 titles for $17, got $40 in movie cash, I am keeping 1 title that I got (Fast Times) the trade in credit to amazon is about $15 total so in then end I got 4 movie tickets and 1 bluray for $2 plus tax + $15 at amazon.
I'll take that deal all day long!

Picked up Fringe S3 and Big Lebowski the other day. I'll take one more look this afternoon and see if anything else jumps out at me. This has been a pretty good deal. I hope the bring it back at some point in the future.

There's one particular Best Buy clerk here in STL, that let me keep all 5 coupons and didn't scratch off a single line of the receipt today (she did this last week too). So I effectively have 5 more uses before this sale is over without having to trade anything else in. The only problem is, there aren't many other titles in the 9.99 range I want. That and it's kind of hard to get anything for DVDs these days, I'd rather free up shelf space by trading my DVDs for Blus. I don't have near as big a Blu-ray budget as a lot of people have on here. It's usually $40ish per paycheck.

Went and picked up some more stuff today. The best I found was the Assassination of Jesse James/Wyatt Earp 2-pack. It was marked at $19.99 but it actually rings up at $9.99, so you can get both for $5 after trade in. I've been waiting for a good deal on Jesse James for a while now, Wyatt Earp is just a bonus.

picked up The Scorpion King today for $5 after U&S. Did not notice it earlier this week when I was there. Never seen it, but for $5 and free movie money I'll give it a shot.
All out of dvds to trade in. May have to venture out to Dollar Tree tomorrow and see if I can find a couple of more. Thinking about picking up a couple of seasons of Breaking Bad.

YMMV. I returned Captain America because I had found it cheaper elsewhere, but I was given a huge stink when all I wanted to do was an exchange (got Fast Five instead, which was the same price).
Took bickering back and forth between the cashier, myself, and a supervisor. After pleading my case they grabbed a $5 voucher that wasn't used and gave me the discount.
It was just a big hassle.
