re: [Dead] Deep Discount $5 coupon code

used 3 different accounts but didn't got the Google checkout route so hopefully that'll work in my favor.

Picked up 'Rounders', 'Hostage' and 'Training Day' for a little over $10 shipped combined

re: [Dead] Deep Discount $5 coupon code

So people are getting pissed because they couldn't take advantage of the company by using the coupon multiple times???

So how come they only have one coupon this time? I admit I've been out of the loop for a while.

It's become the new norm.
Sad!

Not like it used to be. Used to be top of the heap. The deals (from my perspective) are much rarer now. Once in a while something comes along, but not real often. You have to dig through so much junk and/or bad prices to find anything worth ordering.

The only time I know of them having multiple coupons is when they had 20% off sales. However, their 20% off sales have sucked for so long that I totally ignore them now. The only time I ever order are on rare occasions like this, but you still never know if you'll receive what you ordered or it'll be canceled (with or without receiving an email) for whatever reason. Their order status is never correct. Last time I called them a year or two ago, I gave up after waiting on hold over an hour every time, so I figured calling them is out of the question.

Always use DD with caution. I figure one should assume anything you order from them may never ship and may never be cancellable. So I only buy cheap stuff from them I don't care whether or not I'll get.

Regarding canceling multiple orders, it'll be interesting to see if they go by payment method, name, and/or shipping address. Many people have more than 1 person living at the same address, so can each person at the same address use the coupon or just 1 per address? Knowing such things would make it easier. What's funny is DD's order status page has been broken for years, but management's priority now is to brag about how they are going to cancel everyone's order who used Google Checkout or whatever. I don't even have a Google Checkout account... don't even know what that is or how it works.

re: [Dead] Deep Discount $5 coupon code

Picked up Criterion's bluray of "A Night to Remember" for $18 and change. Not a bad deal. My last three orders have shown up within three days of receiving a shipping notice. Comes from somewhere out west to central Georgia. Service has gotten much better for me.

re: [Dead] Deep Discount $5 coupon code

I used the coupon three times and they canceled the 2nd and 3rd order. The original order paid directly with a credit card already shipped. That's fine with me, I shouldn't have tried to take advantage in the first place. At least I'm getting the Cronos Criterion for $18.80.

Got Salon Kitty for $10.26. Don't try to order with IE browser. It won't accept the code, had to use Firefox.

I think I'm leaning toward Salon Kitty as well since that was one of the two movies I didn't receive from the Horror Movie Empire sale debacle.

Good idea. I picked up The Crazies, the original of course, for $11.29.

I did. It just kept saying that the item I had was not eligible since it was not $5.00 or more even though it was $18. Went back to Firefox and cleared my cookies to use the coupon for the second time, but as I stated previously I used a different name and shipping address. So far no cancellations of the two orders.

re: [Dead] Deep Discount $5 coupon code

As much as I don't like DD, I found that the $5 off works on some of the MGM MOD titles. Getting HICKEY & BOGGS, which I've never seen for less than $20, for $12.

Returns to Deep Discount

For anyone who decides to return an order, I suggest you don't simply write "Return to Sender" on the package and drop it in the mail. I recently did that and they claim they never received the order, and refuse to issue a credit or refund. My experience is not unique.

If you want to return an item you should notify Deep Discount via email and then send the package back with some form of tracking.

That's a pretty awful way of going about it... you should have seen that coming.

Columbia house always seems to get them back when you write return to sender. I think they put return service requested on the box. Supposedly media mail items may not be returned unless this is used on it. DD probably uses media mail.

Me three! I don't mind spending just $11 for a brand new Cameron Crowe film on Blu-ray.

Great suggestion. I've been waffling between two half-hearted choices and you've brought to mind one that I can really get behind. I rented a bad cropped transfer of "Hickey and Boggs" that was released about ten years ago (maybe longer) and couldn't even finish it (because of the quality). Then a friend of mind was supposed to get a review copy of this version, but it never materialized. So finally here's a chance to get it at about as decent a price as I'll find. Thanks.

re: [Dead] Deep Discount $5 coupon code

I picked up Ocean's Eleven for $5.37.. I payed with PayPal but for some reason it cut off my apartment number when the order was placed so I had to e-mail them to fix it. Hopefully it doesn't get returned to them.
