Star Wars Complete Saga $79.99 at Target(online & B&M)

$79.99 doesn't sound like a small amount of money to me but this is the cheapest I've seen this set since the Amazon pre-order.
Wish I could pull the trigger but it's just too much right now. Hope someone that's been waiting finds it to be a good price.

The best price around is at Fox Studios in LA. If you can get on working there for even a day you can get it with their employee discount for only $55! I wasn't planning on getting it but for that price I went ahead.

Sounds like reasonable lengths to go to in order to save a few bucks on a blu-ray.

I've applied for a job there, packed a suitcase and am moving to LA for a few weeks. I need to cash in on this $55 deal!

Same here. Too bad they can't include the animated series (S1 - S3) for $80.

$30 for all six movies? You're joking, right?
Well, I hope you don't ever want to see Star Wars on Blu-ray because the only way I can see you ever getting this set for that cheap is if you buy a used set that's in TERRIBLE condition.
I understand waiting for good deals (and I agree with others that this isn't particularly good) but $30 is just a ridiculous amount to expect to pay for this set. AFAIK the individual trilogy sets on DVD (the ones in thin cases) didn't ever dip below $20 so I don't know why this set would ever be sold for less than $40-45, but I guess that's just the abject pessimist in me.

Not crazy. 3 catalog titles that are all 30+ years old + bonus discs... $30 isn't that unreal. That plus three coasters as a bonus.

I got mine like-new used for $42 shipped, minus $20 or so from selling unopened copies of the Limited Edition DVDs and rebuying them used. So, $22 for the blus and the LD quality theatrical release original trilogy. Best yet, I didn't give Lucas a penny for the butchered HD versions.

Ah... prequel bashing... it never gets old.
I'm not the biggest fan of the prequels either but it's a sad fact that they're infinitely better than about half of the popcorn movies that have been released over the last 13 years. I just don't understand why some things ended up they way they did on the screen and how Lucas expects anyone to get a satisfactory experience from watching them in "order" from Episode I to VI... that order doesn't work as an arc for so many reasons.
As for this set, I still think the bonus discs are worth something (there's a lot of cool stuff on them... and THEN there's ALSO a FEATURE LENGTH documentary about all of the folks who dress up like storm/clone/sand/snow/scout troopers... yeah) so I doubt this set will ever dip below $40 in a brand new condition and I bet the price will go back up the next time Lucas releases the original trilogy with more changes. The original trilogy set I can see going for around $30... and might actually buy the prequel trilogy at $20... maybe.
also, @ Michael Corvin:
You do realize that one of the three bonus discs is prequel-only, right? I believe that makes a full set of 4 coasters for you!

$30 no more.
And I think it would be far easier to bribe a Fox Studios employee to buy it for you at the discount then to get a job there.

I'm waiting for this to hit $50, which I'm thinking might be a possibility come this black friday. I have the DVDs, I can wait.

I agree. I'm waiting for the $50 price point as well. I don't own any of these movies on any format, but I can watch other blus while waiting in the meantime...

I picked up LOTR for $35 during the Wal-Mart sale a month or so ago.
Who's bashing? I kinda like Ep. II & III, but I'm never gonna watch them again. I've had the DVDs since they came out and watched them once.
Sweet!
