As much as I love Amazon and the no tax and free shipping, I'm one of the few that just HAS to have the Stark packaging so I went to BB yesterday and paid the $5 pre-order. If it's something I can wait a few days to receive I order on Amazon (not on Prime) but there's some things that you want to have in your hands on release day and this is one of them.

The only one that I've heard about so far is this one:

I noticed the Superawesome Keychain of Masculinity shows as shipping on my order. Wonder if it actually will ship. I don't particularly feel like dropping by.

I don't blind buy too often, but I've heard a lot of good stuff about this show, so I think I will. I like the look of the black and red dragon cover the best.

I'll probably join you in a (mostly) blind buy. I've followed some of the threads on this show and the books. I picked up the episode one promo disc Best Buy was offering a few weeks back. (I don't have HBO so didn't watch the series). I finally gave it a spin last night, and it looks like they're going to sell another copy.

The production values are top-notch, as is the case with other HBO series (i.e., this is feature-film quality). The video and audio on the BD are reference grade. The first episode sucks you right in, setting up the plot and the conflicts. Seems like virtually everybody has a less-than-noble side; some are better at keeping it a secret than others.

And although I knew from reading opinions to be on your guard about stunning plot twists, the end of this episode still got me. I did not expect what happens in the last two shots in a million years.

Looks good; gotta know what happens next.

I've got a $5 RZ certificate as well. Looks like I'll be blind buying this one. For $30 + tax, why not?

Very tempted to get this. Though the price will likely drop in the next few weeks... And I have a backlog to get through, so buying it now isn't a necessity. Oh decisions

wow all the store exclusives are pretty weak. I'd love the special covers, but the collector in me wanted both, which felt like such a waste of money. maybe I'll be more at peace with just the standard edition??? (if they will continue the trend with all the "house" exclusive packaging, then I might just be crazy enough to get them all).

the bonus disc contents from Walmart and HBO Store are all available on YouTube since last year. they're all promo making-of videos aired on HBO, some of the best they've done, I was hoping they just included them in standard release. I don't think it's worth it compare to the standard release at all, those clips range from 4 to 20 minutes, if they just included one featurette on one exclusive bonus disc, then that is just a waste of DVD. Game of Thones' YouTube Channel still have all the uploads, I think these bonus disc just include the repackaged clips.
The Amazon UK "visual effects" bonus might be new, but I'm not sure. maybe repackaged clips from YouTube as well. I speculate Target might offer this one in the US.

Hoping they have a decent amount of regular covers left when I stop in tonight....

Let us know... a week early release would be cool.

It looks like Best Buy is going to have another exclusive, but it doesn't look like it will be free with a season 1 purchase like the keychain. I'm assuming it's going to be like the Boardwalk Empire cards, which were sold separately. Right now the coasters are available for $6.99. No picture as of now.

Might try to price match Best Buy's $34.99 price at Wal-Mart so I can get the bonus disc. Don't know if they'll let me since the covers are different and Wal-Mart has a bonus disc, but in the past Wally's been pretty liberal about such things.

Best Buy will also have the original cover. I'm sure that will be pictured in the ad as well.
