Good news is that, if you ordered 50/50 from Amazon with the $5 coupon, they have the same price, since they just lowered theirs to $17.99 to match Best Buy.

At least it has Ron Perlman. So that's could be one redeeming quality.

Oh, it's amazingly awful. I couldn't make up that stuff if I tried.

On Ron Perlman, he is the go to guy for Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Horror movies. Therefore, he has a lot of good roles, and a lot of bad roles. However, lately it seems he is pretty much taking anything (See Mutant Chronicles, the new Conan and now Scorpion King 3).

For example, I liked him a lot in Cronos, Blade II, Hellboys, and Season of the Witch (even if the movie was crap). But Mutant Chronicles or Conan, not so much. We are getting off topic but I thought he was excellent in the television adapation of Stephen King's Desperation. Ron has a way of turning crap roles into something memorable.

So does 50/50 come out the 17th or 24th? Amazon has it coming out the 24th.

Looks like 1/24, unless Best Buy has a 7 day exclusive:

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/50-50-Blu-ray/31297/
http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/6128/50_50.html

Either way, it'll be out before the coupon expires.

Re: Best Buy Ad Jan 15 - 21 2012

I bought Nikita on BD the week it came out and have no regrets paying $40 for it. That's how much I love the show.

Anyways, that's weird that the BDs for Supernatural and Vampire Diaries are on sale for $19.99 with the trade in coupon, and Nikita's DVD is on sale, but not the BD.

I picked up Kung Fu Panda 2 3D in store for $14.99 + Tax after trade-in. Great Deal & I'm going to return the one that I bought on release week.

It's sort of funny that I bought Rise of the POTA for 22.99 and KFP2 3d for $17.99 ($5 KFP original coupon and $5 MQ). Both have now been price adjusted -- POTA $14.99 and KFP2 $9.99 since they my $5 Manufacturer Coupon was included in the refund.
Did you get the Po plush with that $22.99 purchase and if so did BB make you return it or try to charge you for it as part of a package?

I've been out of it for a while, and until right now I didn't know that BB had Kung Fu Panda 2 3D BD on sale for $14.99 with a $5 trade-in coupon (which I have). I haven't even had time to crack open the Sunday papers and didn't know that 2-day sales were a common thing for BB. Otherwise, I would've done the same thing and gotten a price adjustment or done a return/rebuy. Though I'd like to keep the Po plush it wouldn't have been worth the $7 difference. Of course it's a moot point now since I missed the sale. :-(

I'm going to be hard pressed finding BDs to use my $5 trade-in coupons since everything that is $9.99 is something I already own on DVD, such as Stripes or Out of Africa (which is a BD/DVD flipper). I think Spy Game was $7.99 but that one probably won't work. The reviews of the BDs say they are just moderate improvements in PQ... hard to feel they are worth $5. Also, just as a side note, I took 1 HD-DVD and a demo/promo disc and they refused saying everything had to be a major studio movie DVD release... unlike others who say they were able to trade those in. I'm not surprised as a hallmark of BB is that the policy on coupons or trade-ins varies from store to store and employee to employee. Like Forrest Gump said of the box of chocolates, whenever I go to BB I never know what I'm going to get next.

Not that it matters especially, but did you know that famous Forrest Gump line about the chocolates was also said more or less the same way in the 1954 feature film DRAGNET?

It doesn't matter, why even mention it since no one knows and everyone does know it from Forrest Gump. Just sayin.
