Spotted that one, too, along with JOURNEY TO THE FAR SIDE OF THE SUN at the same price. Just wish SILENT RUNNING didn't have that damned bilingual text on the sleeve. JOURNEY DOESNT seem to, but who knows. Still, those prices, factoring in the exchange rate, compare favourably to the American site, where they just dropped (again) to $11.49U.S.

^Yeah, received my copy today, and I am annoyed by the bilingual cover. Especially the "Version francaise incluse" bit, since it doesn't match the cover font. I thought it was going to be a sticker, but unfortunately, isn't.

Am I missing something? The DVD set is that price on the US site, but the blu-ray isn't on either the US or Canadian sites.

It's there, but I can't direct you to it, unfortunately. Tried posting a link in the previous post, but this site reinterprets it as an eBay link for some reason ( :( ), so I had to leave it off.

One suggestion: from Amazon's main page, click the "Countdown To Black Friday Deals Week" banner that first appears up top, then scroll down the offerings until you see it. It should be in the section below the lightning deals.

Also, if I search "Looney Tunes Platinum" on both sites, it shows up, so not sure why it's missing for you. The savings over the U.S. Amazon pricing on those three alone would far outpace the shipping costs.

Incidentally, Amazon Canada has Vols. 1 and 2 for $18.99CDN / $14.50US, in case anyone doesn't have those already.

Brian, if your link is being changed, it could be due to Viglink. It's a pan in the ass link redirection thing that changes what happens when you click on a link.

As an example, on the Steve Hoffman music forum, there is a section where people post links to amazon bargains and for people in Canada, a US amazon link would take them to amazon.ca, instead.

I use Ghostery to disable it. IMO it's very dangerous to click on a link that doesn't take you where the link states, even after hovering over the link to ensure what it actually points to.

No luck. Your link still appears as an eBay link, at least on my screen. However, when I "quote" your post, I see the proper Amazon link while typing, but it reverts to the eBay link shortly after I re-post.

Weird. First time I've ever seen this. I have some more deals to post, but will probably just let interested parties search Amazon Canada for them individually.

That is weird. I still suspect it's Viglink, since Ghostery shows that it's active on this site. Does it point you to ebay.ca or ebay.com? Is it even a related ebay link for the same product? I'm assuming you're not using a VPN, i.e. your IP address still indicates you're in Canada?

Admittedly, I don't recall seeing Viglink change to ebay, from Amazon. Maybe something else is at play, here.

It directs me to ebay.com, for a listing selling the set for $33.75 U.S. Is it only me that sees it this way? If you folks see the proper Amazon link, then I suppose it's all good.

Another weird thing is that when I'm composing a post, and I scroll down through previous posts below it, the Amazon link looks right everywhere you guys have used it, and clicking it takes me to the proper Amazon Canada page. Strange.

Might be able to try posting from another computer later on, in case that makes a difference.

DVD Talk *does* use a referral link addition but it doesn't redirect to EBay. It provides them a bit of revenue from purchases completed after following their link.

Brian T - Since you're getting the redirect no matter what I suspect it's some type of toolbar and/or plugin on *your* computer causing the issue. Start a browser session with all that disabled ("private" mode usually) or use a different browser and see if you're still getting the improper redirect.

Simply post the Amazon ASIN for the item. Searching on it will take you directly to the item's Canadian page. This is the cheapest way I've seen to get all three Looney Tunes sets on Blu-ray that I've seen. The only one cheaper I've seen was Volume 3 which has been available for around $12 from Mexican sites.
