The Simpsons BD sets are $18.49 which is not really less than $18. I would've jumped on them except I already got the DVD versions for $13 last BF, I think. I'm sure they'd be nice, but given that all my other Simpsons seasons are on DVD, does it really matter? Trying to get rid of my old, new copies for what I paid is never an easy task.

It's weeks like this that I wish I had money.

Good info, zekeburger1979. I'll try to remember to start buying Simpsons in BD starting with S21. I've lost track of The Simpsons lately. Once upon a time in the first several seasons they were by far my favorite series, then I got less interested but still watched through most of the "teen" seasons. Then I simply ran out of time a year ago to watch them at all on TV (I don't watch anything on regular or cable TV... zip zero nada... when the TV goes on I watch a movie/TV series I own or play a console game... I could live without cable or satellite but sadly family members can't).
I don't know what the Simpsons were filmed in, but you indicate that before S20 it was not in HD. So is the earlier Simpsons' source material only in standard definition or were the animated episodes generated into a higher resolution format? I understand when some series (like The X-Files) do the post production in 480 lines and limit the resolution permanently, but anything that's on film from a normal camera source should benefit from rescanning at HD resolutions, so if the Simpsons animations were captured by a normal camera (not a SD video camera) onto film stock, HD resolutions should be possible on all seasons. I guess most Simpsons episodes are not in that category... probably captured at 480 until they went all HD digital video.
Also, I saw 24 S7 BD for $16.62 in my Gold Box. Oh so tempting, but I still have the unopened DVD set (paid $12.99 + tax). If only it weren't so difficult to rid myself of unopened DVDs that I want to upgrade to BD, but eBay is a pain in the neck and I've still never had time for Craigslist. There's another way I won't describe but it's hit and miss. I'm already stuck with some duplicates (i.e. unopened DVD and BD) of some items.

I guess you can't really tell much from the tradition Season 13 upconverted DVD or the BD set but I had rented the BD set and it looks really remarkable. I didn't buy Season 13 last year so I can't really compare.

So glad I held off ordering the 7th and 8th seasons of 24 on BD. Price is cheaper on Blu along with Glee Season 1, Simpsons Season 13 and Firefly if anyone's interested.

Nice, I've been looking to get the seasons of The Simpsons I'm missing. Picked up Seasons 13 and 20. Still need to get Season 12 but I don't really want to pay $18 for a DVD version as I'm sure it'll be cheaper at some point.
