Yeah, I got in on the Amazon deal for the LG47LW5600.

the rest I spoilerized for length.

Spoiler:
Nothing wrong with the tv itself(as far as I know). I looked at a very similar model(LG47LW5700) at Costco friday night. The picture looked great from what I could tell.

But the wife and I just finished having a new home build with a dedicated media room included. I would like to have something in the 60"+ range tv or possibly a projector installed in there. But financially I did not want to tie up that kind of money right now when we have so many other things to take care of regarding the new home(plus Xmas and a few forthcoming birthdays).

I'll make use of this tv until we get everything sorted out. We were also looking at picking up a new tv for our 4 year olds room. So when I get the one I really want, we will just play musical tv's and move a tv from another room into hers.

Plus, I can sell the Xbox 360 and Halo game to reduce the cost of this set. And an added bonus, we dropped satellite service 3-4 years ago but have discussed getting it again. If so, we'll probably go with Dish Network to take advantage of the free $200 Amazon giftcard promo(for buying a tv from Amazon).

Thanks.

They're available in extremely limited quantities when the store opens. With big ticket items (televisions, computers, etc) you have to stand in line before opening and they will hand out as many tickets as they have items. For example, if they have twelve televisions, they will only hand out twelve tickets. There is really no way of knowing whether or not you'll get the item until they hand out tickets. No ticket is required for the three blu-rays listed but I assume there will still be very limited stock which is why I'm counting on Amazon to price-match.

There were 10 people camping out in front of the Best Buy near my home. I guess I won't be getting that TV and BD player.

So I finally decided to talk with my wallet instead of my mouth and had them cancel my Silver Rewards membership account today.

Over-reacted.

Did any other Silver Members not get an early access e-mail? I got jack, and I'm pretty pissed.

No, I didn't. I value good service over an occasional $5 gift cert., and BB's service has been going downhill lately, particularly since they outsourced their in-store music/movie dept. I realize that some people would eat an asshole in order to save a couple of bucks on a dvd, bit I'm not one of those people.

I don't spend enough there to have silver but from what I gather it's free so what's the point in canceling it. Just don't use it.

Thanks! Definitely not worth it for a couple DVDs.

If I have it, I likely will use it, that's the problem. I want to be intentional in letting them know that they have lost a customer who has spent a decent amount there over the years. To clarify, it wasn't just today's silliness that led to this, but an ongoing decrease in the level of service.

Silver Membership is a joke. And I agree, their level of service is akin to a large gymnasium full of monkeys. Every time I walk in that store, I manage to find myself going through an obstacle course just to pickup what I bought online. Their methods of tracking orders aren't consistent, and they certainly are not trained at levels I used to be when I was in retail electronics.

I try these days to just have things shipped to me. It's just not worth the hassle of driving out of my way.

darkdaze73, thanks for the explanation about the LG TV. It makes perfect sense if you want a bigger TV. For me the 55" is just the right size for the room. My complaint so far about the LG 55LW5600 is that it seems the audio through the amp lags the picture a little and I can find no way to adjust it on the TV or amp. They only let you delay the audio rather than delay the picture. Of course nobody else notices the lag but me.

Also, if by some unlikely chance you soon play or have played Chicken Little 3D BD on your LG TV, please let me know if you see ghosting artifacts as many reviews have complained about that.

Agreed.
I became a silver member a year ago because I bought a flat screen tv there.
I stopped shopping there when I went to get my in-store pickup of Salt blu-ray steelbook. Of course they pulled the regular version and there were no more steelbooks. A month before they couldn't find my in-store pickup of another item and I waited for 30 minutes while they looked.
I will still shop there if there is an exclusive or discounted blu-ray that I can't get elsewhere but I make it a point to buy everything else including the big ticket items elsewhere.

Past few times I've gone to Best Buy I've been assaulted by people who are there just to sell DirecTV. Every time they approach me I tell them I'll sign up if they can show me something available on it that I would actually want, but they never can.

We were also looking at picking up a new tv for our 4 year olds room.
Jesus Christ- I was lucky enough to just have a RECORD PLAYER when I was 4 years old! I got a black and white TV when I was about 12!

Got my order in for all the movies, games and a few random items I wanted just 10 minutes into the sale on Monday.

My first item shipped yesterday, and I have received emails for 2 more shipments today. Only 3 more items left to ship.

I think getting on right as it started was a big reason why it went so smooth.

Chicken Little was the one Disney title I did not get on 3D. I think I have all or nearly all other Disney 3D's.

Best Buy has Rome Season 1 and 2 at $24.99 each. Or you can get the complete series for $79.99!

If you're a Costco member, the Rome seasons are $19.99 along with Generation Kill and John Adams.

So, if the Best Buy online deals go up tonight at midnight, what time zone is that for?

It depends. I know last year they kind of staggered when stuff was available on Thursday/Friday. Plus, if people are going after some of the doorbusters that will (supposedly) be available online, that could make checking out an adventure.

Last year I was able to get everythign I wanted but had to check through the night and through Friday afternoon sicne stuff was going in and out of stock.

I don't think I bought anything from Best Buy last year, and 2 years ago, I'm pretty sure the laptop I purchased ended up going on sale around 3 AM... so I wasn't really sure. I guess in a couple of hours I'll click around periodically to see.

Yeah. I think it is PT. But I am also thinking most of the stuff won't hit the prices in the ad until 12 AM Friday, correct?
