Of the (3) Big Lots stores I stopped by over the past few days, (2) of the stores had at least a copy of the E.T. Steelbook as well as the non-Steelbook Release.'

I believe that particular Steelbook Design was originally a Target Exclusive.

I saw the steel book of E.T. as well. Since I already bought it on Blu and also snagged a 4K set with CD etc for $9ish on BF2018, I passed on the steel book.

Just got an email that they are redoing the 20% off this coming weekend to make due to the storm last weekend.

Not sure if it's everywhere or just the northeast.

I received word of the "make-up" sale as well here in the Midwest.

Not for everyone apparently: https://www.biglots.com/marketingass...-satandsun.pdf

We got enough snow from mid afternoon to late night here to put the kibosh on me going out on Saturday. It might have been OK but was miserable and slick just walking across the street to my daughter's house to take one of the grandkids home. Sunday saw fully clear roads by at least 1pm (when I looked out at the street, surprised that ours was clear as it's usually still covered after the others are clear). I went that afternoon and used the coupon. We're not included in the "make up" sale. I'd have gone again if we were.

Haven't been to my BL in a while. Saw the 2 monster steelbooks mentioned above.

I had a $5 off $15 coupon and grabbed the steelbook of Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels for $5.

There was other "new to me titles" at both $3 & $5.

On the DVD front, I noticed the first seasons of Crossbones & Grimm for $5.

Moved about 7 years ago and don’t have a Big Lots in my normal driving patterns, but just learned the old ToysR-Us in town is being converted into a BL.

So, how DO you kill a mockingbird?

I saw the 4K release of E.T. at a Big Lots on Wednesday night for $5. Thinking that had to be somebody's mistake. I also noted a Donnie Yen: 3 Movie Collection DVD boxed set, also for $5.

No Mockingbirds yet, but I'm carrying my slingshot. :)

Not surprising really since E.T 4K LE had been $9.99 for a couple of months around TG 2018.

Anyone notice those TKAM and Alex Ross steels in SoCal ? TIA

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Picked up the only copy of the To Kill A Mockingbird digibook & The Wolf Man steelbook yesterday at BL.

Had copies of Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels regular BD's, but no steelbook. :(

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I've seen none of the titles mentioned... yet... I went by Wednesday night to find the same old stock. In all fairness, they're pretty full and don't appear to have sold much in the past month or so. They not not want to put another waterfall display on the floor yet...

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I visited my local BL this morning and they had definitely restocked, with dozens more BD disks. But most were of the very same titles they had before. I bought the lone TKAMB (non-digibook) and noted a lone Psycho (1960), some Shrek 2D disks, and a bunch of Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels steelbooks. TKAMB is staying wrapped until I'm sure no digibooks show up.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Serendipitous outing today - en route to the local BL, stopped by a Goodwill store that opened recently and picked up the following BDs for $2.99 each
  1. On Chesil Beach (sealed with slip)
  2. Tag (2018 - sealed with slightly beat up slip)
  3. Leave No Trace (with MA HD code)
  4. Three Identical Strangers (with MA HD code)
  5. Feral (Shout Factory/IFC)
  6. Paperback Book 'The Films of Woody Allen' (ISBN 0517569280) for $0.99
The Big Lots next door itself was largely stocked with repeats of earlier titles with no steelbook love as described in above posts. However, I did pick up 'The Strangers (DVD)' and 'The Boy (DVD)' with Glow in the dark slipcovers for $3 each, something that Universal has been pushing on a ton of titles in the repackaging scene. You can actually make the slip fit the blu counterpart with a bit of work

If anyone in SoCal spots any of those steels, please do post (got a $5 off $15 coupon to use by 2/17) - TIA

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Scored the steels along with a few others at a Huntington Beach store in SoCal
  • The Mummy (Alex Ross), Dracula (Alex Ross), Lock, Stock and Two smoking barrels for $3.33 each after $5 off $15 coupon
  • Gregory Peck Centennial Collection (TKAM and Cape Fear) - $5
  • The Last Supper (Asian martial arts flick) - $3
  • The Exorcist (Extended Director's Cut) - $5
  • 2 Guns (Target Exclusive with Graphic novel/slip) - $5
Along with restocks of earlier titles, there were some new ones too - all 3 Ip Man titles ($5 each), Werewolf (the beast among us) - $3, Lucy (pop art) - $5 (my memory's not what it used to be but there were many more)

There were also more of the Disney PVs still stubbornly priced at $10 each (Tomorrowland, BFG, POTC 5)

The 3 movie set is currently . It's temporarily OOS but can be ordered.

Amazon appears to be PMing BB. If it's available local to you (it's not for me) you may be able to get another $1 off doing a store pickup.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Went to my local Big Lots store this evening and found a single copy of the Gregory Peck Centennial Collection ($5). It was the only BD I really wanted that people were finding, so I was very happy.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

A few I saw and/or picked up today
$3 - The Company You Keep (unadvertised expired UV code, redeemed fine on MA), Silent House (UV/ITunes digital code redeemed on Itunes and ported to MA, wouldn't redeem directly on MA), Bad Words (w/DVD and UV/ITunes digital code redeemed on Itunes and ported to MA, wouldn't redeem directly on MA)
$5 - Trouble with the Curve (unadvertised expired UV code, redeemed fine on MA), Psycho (Pop Art), The Birds (Pop Art)
$10 - Thor Ragnarok, Cars 3 (both previously viewed)

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

My local store had a small $10 cardboard display on a center aisle shelf today. There were a few of the Marvel pre-owned films, an 8 film DVD Blumhouse collection and the Fast & the Furious 7 film set on BD.
