Jackie Brown for $5.49 would be a nice deal if that price sticks around.....

is there only one version of Ferris Bueller on BD because it's got a different cover than the only one listed on Amazon.

"Markdown taken from original price."

Does that mean MSRP, or the price BB typically sells a title for?

Re: Best Buy Trade And Save - Oct. 9 - Oct. 29th

The OP says it's on a SELECT title only, meaning that Jackie Brown and Ferris Bueller probably aren't on the list of selected Blu-rays... so this is the same as the deal usually is with recycling DVDs at BB? Or did they drop that previous promotion just to bring it back again?

Except, Jackie Brown and Ferris Bueller ARE on the list. Link in the OP covers the titles included.

But according to next week's ad, it's not nearly all of those titles, and some go up in price. Unless there's an "additional titles available" that I didn't see somewhere. I still think I'll get X-Men and Ferris...

The ad for next week says "for details and complete list of qualifying titles to visit: www.bestbuy.com/upgradeandsave "
Of course, it is possible that the list and prices will change tomorrow.

Am I missing something? The link takes me to the Blu-RAY listing page but there's no information about the Trade and Save program. Do you get $5.00 for any commerically recorded DVD (except adult content) or is this part of their Trade In program were the have estimated values for each movie title?

This week's ad lists True Grit as $19.99 without coupon, $14.99 with coupon. I wonder if they'll honor the price listed online.

If Best Buy will allow it then you could bring in a DVD and receive the $5 off coupon and apply it towards Donnie Darko which is $9.99 and then use the $3 off coupon that is on coupons.com to ultimately make it $1.99+tax out the door.

It should work since its one manufacture coupon and one Best Buy coupon.

Picked up Pulp Fiction and Straw Dogs. Each set me back $4.05 because I had $10 Reward Zone Certificate and I paid $1.41 for each DVD at Big Lots (I swung by to find cheap discs to trade-in before heading to BB). Probably, the best deal of the year so far. Straw Dogs and Pulp Fiction both rang up at the online price even though they were marked higher on the shelves.

Can someone explain exactly what the deals are here? I get confused when people start subtracting their reward zone credits to purchase prices. How much will Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and True Grit be with old DVDs?

Without Rewards Zone credits:

Pulp Fiction = $9.99 after trade-in
Jackie Brown = $4.99 after trade-in
True Grit = $4.99 after trade-in

Tax will be added on top of that depending on the state.

Jackie Brown is $14.99 before the trade-in online. How did you get it for that price? Price match?

Yeah, silly me, I thought it would be possible to check which titles were eligible for the promotion by using the "Upgrade_and_Save_20111002" parameter already included in the link from the OP and adding a single word from the title of the movie to see whether or not it would come up.

I failed to remember that Best Buy's search function is absolutely useless and it just didn't come up with the eligible titles when I searched for them before.

I'm glad that at least the links on the website's left-side navigation bar actually cut down the search to fit within the chosen parameters... it's amazing how nice that is!

EDIT:
I just might have to jump on this and complete my Tarantino collection (by getting Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds and, yes, even True Romance) and things like Ferris Bueller and Forrest Gump.

It's good to know that there are some good titles on this list, but it's disappointing that movies with 3D versions (Drive Angry, Legend of the Guardians, Resident Evil Afterlife, Rio and *heh* Clash of the Titans) don't have the 3D versions as an option especially since Best Buy always overprices them so much anyway.

Thanks Mao!

I have some stuff to trade in so I'll definitely be getting in on Pulp Fiction/Jackie Brown for $10 a piece this week.

I did this. However, the $3 coupon didn't take the tax off, so I had to pay $2.30 instead of $2.11. Still a good deal.
