Yeah, checked in-store several times ...with a fine-tooth comb. Even had them check the inventory in the back.

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Successfully used the $5 off coupon for Amelie in addition to the $3 off coupon from coupon.com. $7 + tax. Disappointed in the cheap eco-case but whatever.

Got Metropolis last night. As others have mentioned not many stores have it in stock. I got lucky it was at the nearest store to my house. All other stores in my area didn't have it per the website.

Picked up Bridget Jones Blu by using the $5 and $3 coupons together for $6.99. No issues.

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Finally used this while on vacation. Picked up Sucker Punch Extended for $19.99. Was "on sale" for $24.99 (marked down from $29.99), so at first the cashier wouldn't scan the coupon. I said "Try it," and sure enough the discount was applied. Not an earth shattering deal, but it's been on my Amazon wishlist since it's release and hasn't moved below $22 in that time.

My BB said they had one... but couldn't find it.

Why didn't you just get it with the coupon during it's release week? Would have been a few bucks cheaper.

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Local BB put out the Conans early, so I got those with the coupon before it expired.

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Has anyone tried using the coupon on an order placed in store? Several Hanna Barbera sets are $14.99 and with the coupon they'd be a steal at $9.99. Figured I'd ask just in case someone tried it and was either successful or unsuccessful.

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Last day! Had planned on using it once more for the two disc set of CASINO ROYALE, but according to the online site, it is not available in stores, only online. ??? Am still going to head over there tonight to see if there's one last Blu to use the coupon on.

Ironically because I'm cheap and was holding out for a bigger drop down the road. Impatience (and Jamie Chung in HD) got the best of me this weekend.

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Picked up The American for $15 last night. Been holding out for a good price on it forever, but it never seems to get cheap. Probably my last use of the coupon

Does anyone think this might become a recurring thing?

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Got Hey Dude! Season 1 for 9.99 pre-taxes!

It's too bad this coupon is going to expire before the exclusive Fox Blu-ray 3Ds coming out on Tuesday. I just can't see myself spending $30 for any of those three movies... and I'm not planning on buying 2 or all 3 of them just to get $5 off each one.

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Went to Best Buy and was happily surprised to see that the supposedly "out of stock" items were actually there.

Bought Ducktales Volume 2, Duckatles Volume 3, Darkwing Duck Volume 1, and Talespin Volume 2 (with the $5 coupon, $9.99 each)

I also got Rocketman & Pollyanna for 6.99 each.

And i was really surprised to find Oliver & Company, The Sword in the Stone, & James & the Giant Peach for $9.99!
(They also included Collective Activity Tins, and an Activity Book, respectively.)

And with ALL of the Disney Reward Points i got, I can now get Kim Possible Season 1 & Season 2 on DVD from Disney Movie Rewards!

I grabbed Almost Famous: The Bootleg Cut (Best Buy Exclusive Edition) for $15 with the coupon. Sweet!

I didn't realize any of those titles were on Blu-ray... amazing! (well... I guess 'James' is actually on Blu-ray)

...btw, yes, I realize that I posted about a DVD that I got... *shhhh*

I guess I'll make up for it by proclaiming my buys of both Animal House and The Blues Brothers on Blu-ray for $9.99 after coupon just to make up for my post about DVDs on the Blu-ray forum.

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

I guess the website nor the person I chatted with on the website knows what's going on in the actual stores. The site and the rep both told me that the 2 disc CASINO ROYALE was not available in any stores anywhere. It was available for purchase online only. So what do I see tonight at my local store? 3 copies of the 2 disc set for CASINO ROYALE! Unfortunately it was on sale for $12.99 so I couldn't use the coupon on it.

I wound up using the last of the coupons for THE MISSION and DR. STRANGELOVE, $9.99 each.

I loved this coupon, but will be glad to save some money now for the rest of the summer and enjoy the fruits of it.

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Damn, I completely forgot this was expiring today... I haven't used it in like two weeks. Oh well. I'm probably better off... I still got plenty of uses out of it...

Yes, I tried. It doesn't not work for a couple of reasons. The biggest reason is because placing an order in-store is accomplished essentially the same way as placing an online order from home on bestbuy.com. There is no way to scan or apply the coupon. Secondly, the fine print on the coupon says it only applies to in-store and in-stock items.

Whoops
Yes, nice save. I'll got with that James & the Giant Peach is also available on Blu-Ray

Re: Best Buy $5 off coupon

Now that this has expired, I will have to rewire my brain back to remembering that $10.99/$12.99/etc. are BETTER sale prices than $14.99 .
