This deal is listed as online only, but I wonder if it will be available as an "unannounced" in-store deal when TRUE GRIT streets tomorrow.

Buy TRUE GRIT (Blu Ray DVD Combo or DVD for $17.99) get $5 off on a John Wayne Catalog title--only not all of the catalog titles listed as part of the deal feature John Wayne and not all of the recently released Blu Ray titles featuring John Wayne are part of the deal (i.e. no HORSE SOLDIERS).

The catalog titles are already on sale for $10 (which is the lowest price around), so it's like getting the catalog title for $5. Shipping costs kill the deal unless you order more than $50 worth of stuff to get free shipping, so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to see if it turns up in store or see if I can get a price-match at WalMart.

If you missed Best Buy's True Grit deal, where you could get both versions of that movie for $22.99 total by pre-ordering the Coens' version online, this matches it, plus gives you the opportunity to select a different western with TG 2010 as part of the combo, if you don't need the original.

Looks like it's online only. I just went to Target and bought True Grit (2010) and Once upon a Time in the West and the register didn't take an extra $5 off.

Got Best Buy to match this with Once Upon a Time in the West... the manager had to approve it. But since Best Buy's price on Once Upon was $20, he told the girl at the counter to discount both titles so that it would equal the right amount. Unfortunately, she didn't know how to add and ended up giving me an additional dollar off. Usually, I like to be honest, and if I had noticed that she discounted it too much at the time, I would have said something.

As it is, I basically paid $18 for True Grit and $4 for Once Upon a Time. Not bad... though True Grit being $15 at Target next week... oh well.

My Best Buy would match the $10 price on OUATITW, but not do the $5 off for buying the combination, so I used the $5 coupon posted in another thread and netted out at $23 anyway ($18 for TRUE GRIT - $5 coupon + $10 for OUATITW= $23).
