An order I placed Tuesday morning when the prices were lower is no longer showing up in my order history on the site (it was there earlier). Has this happened to anyone else? Could they have canceled the order?

Good old DD. I ordered the Matrix Blu ray Collection using the code that was giving an extra 25% off the other day bringing the total to $32.54. (I know. This was cheaper at BestBuy.com for $29.99 but it wasn't available at the store near me so I figured this was a close enough price). Anyway, just got an email saying they had cancelled the item per MY request. WTF???? I didn't cancel it. I called the 800# and only waited for a few minutes before a lady picked up. She explained that it was cancelled because it's no longer available. Sure enough, I pop open the website and that's what it says. I ask if I were to place a re-order once it comes back in stock at the price and she says I'd have to call back when it's in stock again.

Here's what chaps my ass: When I ordered it, it did say "ships in 5-10" days...... so does the original movie (and it still does). Now the set is suddenly unavailable during their "sale". Why the hell is this item included in the sale if they have no intention of fulfilling any orders for it? And why is the original movie not unavailable as well??? The lady on the other line didn't really seem to give a shit my order was cancelled. Again, she said I'd have to call back about a price adjustment. I guess I'll keep my eye open for when this is in stock again (probably on 6/27, the day after the sale ends) and give it a try but I'm not holding my breath that they'll honor the price.

I know. DD has screwed over almost everyone in this forum. Guess you can add me to the list. Had to vent on this. Thanks for listening.

Three ways to avoid getting a chapped ass:

1. Use a British riding saddle.

2. Buy Costco sized lip balm and apply liberally.

3. Never buy from Deep Discount.

Each time I wanted something this sale, I searched for another item to get me over $15 for free shipping. Each time the price went up during that process. I'm not going to curse at DD or anything, but they've lost some business. I was going to give them another chance.

According to Google Checkout, DD shipped my order yesterday...but according to DD's site, I have no order history. I'll assume this is because I didn't check out through their site?

Got my two Blu Rays today and upon opening the vacuum sealed bubble wrap envelope that they came in, the shrink wrap on both was completely shredded off. As far as I'm concerned this place can do little right anymore.

Same here. Got a stack of 4 BDs wrapped together and 2 of them had the shrinkwrap falling off the edges.

On the plus side, I received the Black Moon Criterion BD five days before the street date. Heard it's a very bizarre film, so I'll give it a spin tonight.

I got an email from DD and it had a code for 30% off. It looked like the standard 25% off email reminder I've received every day since the sale started, so I almost trashed it. The code looks unique so I won't share it but be on the lookout.

ericmylad, last year (back when I stopped using them) DD shipped some people's orders weeks or months after they had supposedly been canceled. Who knows if someday you'll suddenly get a shipping notice. At least you got through to customer service... a feat I never managed last year even after an hour on hold. Normally I would've said get the Matrix set from dvd2blu.com but it looks like they dropped it, so maybe the story about it being no longer available is true. Just having checked it looks like it's the same-old same-old on dvd2blu.com. They never add new titles nor lower prices.

I use Google Checkout as well, one less place that has my CC# on file with hackers trying to get it works for me. If you log into DD before ordering it will show up under order history, but there's never any progress activity. If you check your Goggle Checkout history DD transmits a tracking # when the order is shipped. For me it's a funky number that always ends in DTC, like 26067115DTC. If you click that in GC they take you to USPS which doesn't recognize it. Someone suggested packagetrackr.com and I finally figured out it's DHL Global Mail, one of the many services that ship the package to the USPS processing center closest the delivery address and then hands if over to the postal service for delivery. I'm in AZ and all my orders have shipped out of Irvine CA and I get them in a week or less, got an order I placed Monday today, the orders from Tue. & Wed. will be here Monday.
