Fry's does it again! They keep listing this in my local ad every month or 2, and every time I call them up they are out of stock. They have every single other combo pack each time I've gone there, but never this one. Last time they told me they hadn't gotten 1 in stock since last October.

It's false advertising to me, but what am I gonna do (besides not shop there very often). I gave up on getting this at Fry's and bought Ice Age 1 & 2 BDs for $15 total. I doubt I'll find Alvin BD for $5 anywhere any time soon though.

I noticed they dropped the regular price of the original Clash of the Titans book version to $14.99.

When they were selling the Die Hard set for $20, I got a rain check. Then I'd check online every few days. When it showed availability for my store about 2 weeks later, I got it no problem.

My store never showed any stock for the Alvin/Ice Age/Ice Age 2 BD set. When I went there a couple months ago the last time they had this, I got a raincheck. I checked online until the week before the raincheck expired. I then called them and they confirmed they hadn't gotten any since last October. So the raincheck expired worthless. They even said I'll probably never see this title in their store, so getting another raincheck would be pointless. Now if I lived in the "beloved" area of the country (i.e. San Jose) where they have special ads with lots of good stuff never in my ad, then they'd probably have it in stock.

The part that bothers me is they keep on running this item in the ads for my area, but my area never has this particular set. It's just vaporware.
