Re: Apocalypse Now Full Disclosure Set

Enough already with the DD jokes. Some of us are willing to wait a year and save some bucks. I paid seven dollars more at Amazon, just to get it in two days. Lets not put down the folks that are willing to wait 6 months to a year for a package to arrive, if ever. Not everybody is in such a hurry.

Thanks OP. Pay no mind to those thread crappers that are trying to warn innocent buyers that this may not arrive until a significant celestial event, or next year.

Don't know how long you'll have to wait, but deals at DD are few and far between these days. Unless 10% off MSRP is now considered a deep discount.

"Did they say why, deet, why DVDTalk wants me to go out of business?"
"They told me that you had gone totally insane, and that your discounts were unsound."
"Are my discounts unsound?"
"I don't see any discounts at all, sir."

Re: Apocalypse Now Full Disclosure Set

Amazing how DD has fallen in recent years, the old 20% sales were the stuff of legend... but the rise of amazon coupled with a rapid decline in customer service has them reeling

As for myself, after the pain in the ass experience of canceling the Shrek set a few months ago was, I will never order from them again... 80 minute wait for someone to pick up, I know holidays are crazy, but that is unacceptable... then they refused to initially cancel the order because Id acciddentally selected the wrong address (my mothers in Texas Id used years ago to send her some titles) as the billing address, saying they needed HER to cancel it, even though the card used was my own... Im very mild mannered, but I literally was cursing at the woman on the phone. I told them I looked forward to them going out of business

Hello, welcome to the internet. Please keep your feelings inside the car at all times so they do not get hurt or killed.

this is the internet, you need thick skin.

It is a good deal, but DDD has gone down as of late and many have lost faith in them so you're going to get these posts regardless, and there are some you've helped I'm sure. I honestly wouldn't want to wait the 3 months it will take them to ship out, but more power to people who would.

This is a deal? I think I got this for $25 and change from B&N on release week.

Sorry, OP. It's nothing you've done. Deep Discount has just stepped on so many toes, including mine. Everybody wants to verbally flay them at the first chance possible, and I cannot blame them.

Re: Apocalypse Now Full Disclosure Set

you know, for some reason, and I don't know why, but I think that Amazon will have this as a Gold Box deal by the end of the month for under $30.

Just gotta hunch ya know....

Re: Apocalypse Now Full Disclosure Set

Because the 2-Disc version was being sold for $10 recently, I just can't justify paying this much for the Full Disclosure. I will wait until it goes for about $20.

Yep. While I really want Hearts of Darkness, I don't want to pay an extra $30 for it. When jam-packed editions of Blade Runner (FIVE versions of the film and a metric buttload of extras) and Avatar are less than $25 and the Alien Anthology (four movies, each with two cuts; tons of extras) can be imported for ~$40, the price tag on the FD version is out of line. OTOH, I see that the restored Godfather trilogy is $68 at Amazon now (got mine for $42 or so over a year ago, so I don't know what that's about), so perhaps the "great movies need high prices" rationale is at work.

Happy with the 2 disc edition. No way $30 justify the added extras.

Re: Apocalypse Now Full Disclosure Set

If this edition would hit $25 or less soon I would be happy to purchase it. Even with only a $10-15 price for the 2-Disc edition right now I just can't see myself being completely satisfied without the documentary.

I hope your waiting pays off. It will suck if Full Disclosure simply goes out of print.

Put me in the could not care less if it does camp. I saw it once on DVD and that was plenty.

The $10 version with ALL the other extras except Hearts disc was a no brainer for me.

Deep Discount is run by an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks to collect a bill for DVDs that never arrived.

The horrah.
