Is Hot Rod any good? My local store has a copy, and they are a clearance center so every used Blu is 25% off.

Re: Bluray deals at Blockbuster

I love you guys ...

I had been disappointed when I heard Hot Rod was OOP and couldn't find one. I never thought about hitting BBV.

Found a copy of Hot Rod and also the OOP version of Scanner Darkly with the extra features.

No copies of Zodiac, but I already have it anyway.

It's one of the funniest movies I've seen in the past few years. And I'm not even a big fan of all the SNL digital shorts. Hilarious.

I agree that Hot Rod is surprisingly funny. I was expecting it to be at most mildly amusing, but it's gut-bustingly funny at times. I have it on DVD, but scored a Bluray copy at bb to flip because I need the money. I need the money for All About Eve and Raging Bull damnit!!

How much were you able to get for it? Another local BB had one last copy and I may go snag it if it'll be worth my while.

9.99. A steal if you look at the crazy sums people are paying for it on ebay. What's funny to me is that you can snag an HDDVD copy for a buck or so. That's almost worth buying a used Toshiba on ebay or where have you for 30 or 40.00. Then you can take advantage of all the other cheap titles out there and a few that haven't been released on Bluray yet (Dazed and Confused, The Big Lebowski, etc...).

I actually meant how much were you able to sell it for? I'm wondering if I should go buy that copy and put it on Amazon.

Re: Bluray deals at Blockbuster

I might just pick up 3 copies of Hot rod just to get the rare titles that I'm desiring like Zodiac.

Re: Bluray deals at Blockbuster

Picked up some movies today:

Casino - $9.99
Goodfellas - $12.99
Miami Vice - $9.99
How To Train Your Dragon - $12.99
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - $12.99

15% off the total since the store was closing and the girl gave me one of the $9.99 blu-rays for free to try out Blockbuster Online for a month. Normally I don't do that kind of stuff but she hand wrote instructions for me on how to cancel my account as soon as I got home, so what the hell, why not?

Re: Bluray deals at Blockbuster

If someone buys the Hot Rod at my local Block Buster just to sell it, I'll be pissed. I want the hell out of that movie

Re: Bluray deals at Blockbuster

Scott Pilgrim is $13? Cool. Have to pick that up. Hear it has about 27 commentaries and tons of extras and Knives was such a cutey, much better than Ramona. Michael Cera sucks, but I dug the flick.

You've had 2.5 years to buy it on Blu-ray. I'm buying every copy I see.
