Like the title says. Half the stock still has the old $29.99 stickers, but it's the same SKU.

I'm slightly annoyed that I paid $23.49 for this in my Gold Box a month ago, but with tax, it's a difference of only two bucks and with all the extras, I'm not complaining. Wish Apocalypse Now would get down to $20 - $44 for a single movie is just crazy, no matter how good.

BTW, Close Encounters of the Third Kind was also there for $12.99 IIRC.

I went to three different Costcos in South Florida today and yes they had $19.99, 3 Disc Avatar sets but they were the DVD not the Bluray. The Bluray is $29.99. I took one of the bluray sets to the register and it rang up as $29.99.

Uh-oh. Did they use the same packaging as the BD version other than one saying Blu-ray at the top? (Looks that way in the Amazon pix - BTW, the DVD is $18.49 there; BD is $24.99.) If so, sorry for the false alarm.

I have seen the BD set at a few different Walmarts for $19.99 over the past week. I may be worth checking there.

I was at Costco before Christmas and yes, the packaging for the two versions is very very similar. You have to read carefully to avoid mistaking DVD for BD. I didn't buy the movie, but I do recall seeing DVD copies for $19.99. The BD was definitely more...$29.99 sounds about right.

The Extended, 3 disc Bluray set is on sale at Best Buy for $23.99.

The thing is that I thought the SKUs were the same, though I must not have looked closely enough at them. Sorry for the false alarm.
