Can't believe the DVDs are $34.99. I've just bought my first blu-ray (BTTF) and haven't bought a player yet. Still feeling weird about the transition and I don't know which one I'll pick up.

I know nothing about this series but the reviews sounded good so I ordered it last week. Amazon notified me today that they are advancing the estimated shipping date somewhat. I'm guessing it is selling better than they anticipated so they ordered more copies.

Yeah, this show is great. You won't be disappointed. It's a steal for $21.99 on Blu-ray.

I really loved the first season, but hesitate to buy in without seeing if the show gets better in season 2. I'm not loving FX's decision-making skills at the moment seeing as how they just canceled their best drama series, 'Terriers.'

If a show doesn't improve from its first season, then it's not worth my money buying season sets. Or, if a show has a promising first season, only to get cancelled in its second before truly finishing what it started (umm, a gazilion Fox shows, including Terminator and Dollhouse), then it feels like a letdown. If I didn't set some kind of standard for my spending, I'd buy season 1 sets of way too many shows in place of eating. Haha. Some favorites of mine over the years (The Wire, The Shield, Six Feet Under, Dexter) continued to build from good inaugural seasons. Whereas shows like Californication or Weeds got lazy or unfocused after great starts. Replay factor also comes into play. I'm less likely to buy shows that have an episodic nature (like cop, medical or legal procedurals) than shows that are serialized (LOST, 24, Sopranos). Justified rides that fine line of being a cop procedural with a new case to solve in every episode, and a serialized show where characters' stories continue over time. If Justified leans more towards The Shield with its serialized nature and less towards fill-in-the-blank cop show, then I'll buy the show eventually. Terriers was a great example of a sort-of procedural show that got it right with enough character development and serialized storylines (echoing The Shield). But, FX put that dog down.

Double good news in this thread... the price and this!
EDIT: Have to admit, I wouldn't have bought this normally but that's a great price for tv on BD and I will enjoy watching Tim in high def!

Mentioned this in the thread in HD Talk, but this was in my Gold Box Quick Picks for $20.xx so I blind-bought it. Will try to watch some of it before it ships to see if I want to keep my order.

Where Fox erred with "Terriers"was the ill-chosen name and the poor promotion. I kind of see the same thing happening with FX's upcoming "Lights Out", but we'll see...
