Saw this on slickdeals and just did it -- if you have $4 of VOD credit at Amazon, you can get $4 off Scott Pilgrim (DVD/Blu-Ray 2-discer), $15.99 shipped with Prime. Apparently, if you rent Scott Pilgrim, you'll earn a $4 credit toward the DVD/Blu-Ray pack. So, basically, converting $4 of VOD credit into a discount toward the physical discs.

Just did it and it worked for me!

That's the basis of the twitter approach (minus the free $5 VOD credit) I mentioned two posts prior...

The Johnny Handsome/Angel Heart two pack dropped back down to $10.99, probably gonna pick it up. Two of the better Mickey Rourke films from the 80s.

Amazon is still giving out the $5 VOD credit - but only if it's your first time using the service:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.ht...reative=390957

Personally, I've never used Amazon VOD - but they would not give me the credit because it says I've purchased content there before. Sure, they gave me a couple free rentals with my past orders. I never redeemed them, let alone asked for them. It's lame those count against me, especially since Scott Pilgrim showed up in my Gold Box tonight for $18.99. Snagging it for $14.99 would have been sweet.

Thankfully, I got the VOD credit through my brother's account and redeemed the $4 off the blu-ray.

Scott Pilgrim will be $15 without the aid of such deals eventually. Just gotta be patient.

That's true of almost every single movie Blu-Ray and not just Scott Pilgrim. Virtually every movie DVD will be $5 or less or every TV season DVD set $10 or less if you can wait that long. There is already an overwhelming selection of movies at those prices, so I have to be selective to not go broke. Basically, you are advocating my (and many others') approach... instead of buying new releases at high prices, be patient and wait for your price point. I can usually do that because I'm usually not too anxious to see any particular movie and I already have too many unwatched movies and TV sets. Those who can't wait will have to pay higher prices.

I Spit On Your Grave (2010)-15.99

Haven't seen this but I've heard good things and I loved the original so I think that's enough for a blind buy for me at that price.

My sister got a used copy of Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World from Hastings with it's recent 40% Off/Buy 1 Get 1 for $1 sale. It came out to around $6.50 with tax. So if you wait you can definitely get anything for less money.

My copy of Scott Pilgrim was a gift, so I got an even better deal!

"Almost" is the key word in your statement. There are some titles that never seem to come down in price even though I've been tracking them for several years.

One man's patience is another man's agony...

For those who've seen it, is the "Bangkok Dangerous" blu starring Nick Cage worth a blind buy for $5.99? Nick is hit or miss with me, and I don't want to waste my money even at that excellent price...

This is the truth, but it's usually only a few titles that never decrease, Hot Rod was one of those titles and now it's OOP . The bulk of titles always seem to take a dive sooner or later though.

I had a lot of high-hopes going into that movie, seemed like it would be right up my alley...but I was bored to tears with it, just didn't seem to have a pull on me.

It was a "just watch once" movie for me. Its really hard to gauge his movies because most of them lately are "bad" but its up to the individual's tastes whether it's "just plain bad" or "so bad its good". I liked Family Man a lot but was pretty put out by Wicker Man.

I do like a lot of "bad" movies but this one was just eh for me.

Another vote against this as a blind buy. In general, I enjoy his movies but this one was rather boring (from what I remember).

Bangkok Dangerous was a fairly uninteresting movie. I'd also say pass. Though it is pretty cheap, so if you want to give it a shot...

For $6 it's definitely worth it. Has some action and intrigue but nothing special

But is it worth 90 minutes of our time, especially when there are so many great films to watch?

You never know when you may get stuck at home with the flu, or break a leg, and need an endless supply of flicks to watch... Personally, I can't say no to ridiculously cheap bargains, unless it is a movie I never heard of...

Kinda sorta. Normally, I'd wait for a $10 or less sale (hell, my average cost per title the last three years is $4.13) - but Scott Pilgrim was the one movie I saw last year that I've really been jonzing to own. $16 is the most I'd ever pay a new copy, but I figured "what the hell".

I knew about the Hastings B&M sale, but the nearest location is a four hour round trip - no thank you.

Being that this is only one of three movies I plan on buying till Nov 11 (watch me eat my words ) ) I would say if you like the movie. Go for it.
