Harry Potter 1-7a is $49.99 today in the GB. Yes, it doesn't include 7b.

This is Amazon's Blu Ray "Deal of the Week." For those who've been monitoring the price, is this a good one? I'm been meaning to pick this up for awhile.

Probably will wait to see what 3D will be coming out.

Besides the entire 8 movie set at amazon.co.uk is like 45 bucks right now, cheaper than the 7 movie set here lol. |

For those that missed the slightly-lower price point earlier this year ($17.50, I believe), The Holy Mountain has dropped back down to $19.99.

Warner knows people will pick it up. The Blu-ray set is now #3 for the whole Movie section! But I just grabbed the UK set. I'll sell off the two previous Blu-rays and likely just keep my HD DVDs since those are not worth much. $47 is too damn cheap for 8 films. |
Re: Amazon Discounts and Deals Thread #7 (is it #7? I'll pretend it is)
I just realized this week I have to make a decision whether to keep my Lion King 2D for $16.99 or 3D for $21.99 order at Amazon. I searched on "Lion King" here hoping to find a thread (especially in the main DVD Talk forum) discussing all of the differences between versions (besides the obvious 2D vs. 3D). Did I miss such a thread?
I just checked DVD-Basen and (as a pleasant surprise) there are a couple early reviews up for each Lion King BD version, so that will probably answer my questions on the differences between versions. I also remember reading a thread about the Amazon Dumbo + Lion King Amazon preorders and how the $8 coupon for the Lion King was partially pro-rated across Dumbo (which happened for me too)... meaning if you cancel the Lion King preorder that was part of the Dumbo preorder, you should come out ahead on Dumbo, right? Unfortunately I can't find those posts in the Lion King threads. Are most people going with the 2D or 3D version? I assume we're only going to have $5 Disney coupons for those who buy B&M? |

^ I'm waiting for a good price on the Trilogy.

I went with the trilogy as well, which includes the 3D version. According to highdefdigest, the 3D version is amazing.

Re: Amazon Discounts and Deals Thread #7 (is it #7? I'll pretend it is)
I need the help of other DVD Talkers... I just read all the Lion King BD reviews I could find trying to figure out the differences between the extras on The Lion King 2D and 3D BD versions. I only used the comparison chart on Amazon since the reviews don't address the BDs yet.
What I gathered is this. If any of this is incorrect, please post: - 2D BD disc: contains ALL of the extras (many of which are missing from the previous 2-DVD edition) - 3D BD disc: has only 1 extra which is a quick introduction about 3D - Digital copy: does NOT contain any extras. - DVD: wasn't mentioned in any reviews... does it have any different extras? I just want to know what extras I'd be missing (besides the 3D feature and the digital copy) if I got the 2D set instead of the 3D. I don't know why so many reviews never directly address this question I have every time. If my info above is correct, the 3D set for $5 more will have no additional extras beyond the 1 trivial one over the 2D set. Then it comes down to do I want to spend $5 for a 3D version I can't use yet. Also, Amazon raised the price on the Trilogy to $74.99 (it was $66.99 back in April when I decided not to order it because it was too expensive). I read that the 2 sequels will have separate releases in 2012... I'll probably wait for those and hope they work out cheaper than Trilogy. BTW, most reviews praised the 3D as much better than your average 2D to 3D conversion, but at least 2 reviews said the conversion was nothing to get too excited over. |

Here a review that lists all the extras. Any other questions? Please use the Lion King thread in HD talk.

Re: Amazon Discounts and Deals Thread #7 (is it #7? I'll pretend it is)
This is slightly off topic but still related to Amazon discounts, so I figure I'll just ask my question here. Does anyone know what kind of points you receive when using an Amazon Visa card at international Amazon sites? I have something I want to order from Amazon UK and Amazon Canada. If I get extra points like I do at the U.S. site, I'd like to use the Amazon Visa card.

Maybe someone could provide a link to cure my apparent blindness?
