Unreal. I sent a lower price message a few hours ago, and they just changed it. I bet lots of people did it. It makes my day since I preordered it with them and rolled the dice that they'd lower the price. I really love Amazon.

Re: Inception - $17.99 at Amazon

Anybody know the odds of a director's cut coming out? I enjoyed the flick and this is a decent price, but I'm not sure I need to order it now. Subtext: Amazon has been a damn leech that I can't shake and I'm grasping for straws.

Given that Nolan was given free reign and a blank check to make the movie he wanted, I would think that the version released in the theaters represents his director's cut. Plus, Nolan has never done a director's cut of any of his prior films.

But James Cameron has been trying to convince Nolan to release it in 3-D...
Spoiler:
YES, I'm joking!

Thanks for the info. I had canceled my pre-order but I'm back in for that price.

I just saw this thread and sent a message to Amazon as well. Mine shipped at 2pm, so I hope that they will give me the adjustment as well.

If not, I'll refuse it and send it back and order it again at the lower price.

I wish Amazon did steelbooks. I'm going to have to stick with my f.y.e. steelbook copy. Amazing price though for this set. The movie is pretty amazing as well.

I've already ordered the UK briefcase, but it's not scheduled to get here until 12/29. Now I'm considering getting this as well. I'm sure I can sell it for $15 after my UK copy arrives. I've never done that with a dvd/bd before, but I've been dying to watch this again.

Was wondering if it would go down. At that price I was willing to bite. Thanks, OP!

What a waste.... Seriously? You can't wait a couple extra weeks?

Yeah, I know the policy, and it says shipped not release date... but either way, I sent an email and got this reply:
Whenever you pre-order a book, CD, video, DVD, software, or video game, the price we charge when we ship it to you will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.com between the time you placed your order and the release date.

If the price changes before the item ships, you'll see the updated price in Your Account. If the price changes after your shipment is already being prepared, you'll receive a refund within 24 - 48 hours of the release date.

Our Pre-Order Price Guarantee doesn't apply to items (or prices) offered by other sellers on our site.

If you've not received the refund by December 9, please let us know by using the link below, so that we'll refund you.
Amazon will come through.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Inception (3disc combo) is appearing in Gold Boxes for $17.09. Still too rich for my blood, but for those who think 18 is a good price, this is even better.

Re: Inception - $17.99 at Amazon

There might be a better deal on this at Barnes and Noble for those of us that are B&N members. There is a coupon code (E7C4D9D) that takes $5 off a DVD or Blu-Ray that is valid for B&N members only.

They have the Inception combo pack on their site right now for $20.51 making it $15.51 + tax after the coupon. The coupon does not work for pre-orders, however, as long as the price stays the same come release day, this is probably the cheapest you are going to find it for a while.

http://video.barnesandnoble.com/DVD/...USRI=inception

EDIT: Just noticed the wording on the coupon states that you can use it at Barnes and Nobles mirror sites, which I assume refers to the AAA and Visa sites (links found in the Barnes and Noble coupon thread) that give you additional discounts. So this could possibly end up being cheaper, especially if you can use the AAA site which gives you an additional 10% off making the total cost before tax $13.50 shipped. Keep in mind that you have to be a AAA member to use that site.

Re: Inception - $17.99 at Amazon

What I find interesting is that the DVD version of Inception is the 6th bestselling release on Amazon. That means a whole bunch of people are paying 16.99 for the single disc DVD versus paying 17.99 for the DVD/Blu-Ray Combo. Go figure.
