Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

Just noticed BTTF blu trilogy in my cart for $34.49...however, this is listed as a lightning deal next Monday...who knows what this price will actually be, and how quickly it will sell out - FAST, I am sure.

Unless you won't have access to a computer within the first 5-10 minutes of the Lightning Deal, I would wait.

Wednesday's Lightning Deal prices are posted. Gran Torino and The Mummy are $5.00, as far as Blu-rays go. Simpsons are $12.99 each.

Yeah, I'll definitely wait for the BTTFuture blu-ray set.
I'll be at my computer waiting on the MattyCollector site to post their cyber monday mess at noon anyway. (Now that's a truly screwed up site as far as wait screens and time outs are concerned...)

Figured they would drop 'Gran Torino' down to this price - look forward to snatching that up. I believe it's the 8:30-12:30 block (I hope) which means I can grab it before work.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

According to the calendar, there will only be Simpsons seasons DVDs and no Blu-Rays (for the last 2 seasons released)?

RE The Office S5 DVD for $12.99 vs. BD for $24.49... that's a tough call. On ones like Prison Break: The Final Break where the difference is $2, it's a no brainer, but I'd go with the DVD set.

RE BTTF Trilogy BD, you can order for $27.99 + tax at B&N.com (see other threads with coupon) and on the unlikely chance B&N doesn't randomly cancel your order, my understanding is you have 14 days to return it to a B&N store for a refund. That would be a backup plan until we know Amazon's BTTF lightning deal price.

BTTF is now $34.49 at amazon. How much more do you think it will drop on Monday?

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

I've been very patient the last two years in waiting for prices to drop on titles that I want because I know that titles will continue to drop around this time of year. So far, I've picked up (all on BD):

The Natural ($11.49)
Waltz with Bashir ($11.49)
The Wrestler ($7.99)
The Reader ($7.99)
The Departed ($7.99)
An Education ($14.99)
A Single Man ($15.49)

The last two were a little bit more than I wanted to pay, but I've been looking forward to rewatching both, so I figured it was worth it. I never expected to see Waltz with Bashir that low. I've had it saved in my cart since it came out.

Hahaha, I thought I was the only one waiting on Bwana Beast/Animal Man.

I do not own any of the Bond ones (Never seen them plus I would only by them if all of them where put out). They hold value to each person (I really like Dune). But when it comes down to it and you put the box away and keep put the movie where is the value of it?

On a side not and a little off topic on the steel boxes how hard are they to keep mint?

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

Interesting to see The Simpsons DVDs sell out in ten minutes.
Season 1, then 4 (the rarest one?), then the rest.

Picked up season 4 and will try for season 8 tomorrow. May just get to avoid Target completely.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

Wow, those Simpsons sets sold out immediately! I got S3, the only one out of the six I didn't already own (don't really need S1 or S2 - not enough classic episodes for me), but now I'm nervous about tomorrow morning - I hope I remember to check amazon first thing in the morning when I wake up!

Yep, I added 4, 5, and 6 as soon as 11:30 hit.

Really surprised they went that fast.

Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale - $5.99

I'm a huge Gaffigan fan, he's probably my favorite stand-up comedian. A great blind buy for anyone looking for something hilarious. I would rate this performance second to his audio CD "Doing my Time." There are a couple of funny skits on the DVD/Blu-Ray also.
