Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd
Well, all the big store's ads for Black Friday are out there and I must say it is overall pretty lackluster compared to last year for sure. There are a couple of alright deals, but nothing that says if I don't buy it at that price I will not see it that cheap for some time to come. If Amazon at least matches the prices I see in those ads I might grab a couple, but most likely just wait on a good sale of those titles used at gohastings.com for sure.

I'm still eagerly awaiting an ad from Ultimate Electonics... Their grand opening sale was awesome, so I'm hoping they blow BB out of the water on BF... Also, I need a new TV, and they have a HUGE selection...

The only thing that has my attention at all is [that place that sells merchandise skewed toward kids] has GoldenEye for the Wii listed in a "Buy 1, Get 1 for $5.00" assortment for Thanksgiving night. I can't make out whether there are any other titles in that group I want, but that might entice me. Maybe.

It's by Southridge, across the street from BB. Their grand opening sale was awesome, and their weekly sales are decent. Not sure about BF yet, but I have high hopes. They are surely trying to crush the competition (mainly BB)...

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd
I started my Blu collection last year from Target and that omnipotent $5.00 off coupon. I got five Blus for $5.00 each, as good as a Blu dump bin only with excellent titles like THE WILD BUNCH, THE GETAWAY, BODY HEAT, etc. Unfortunately, it spoiled me as I now have a hard time justifying paying much more for most Blu titles, but it's okay as in addition to being cheap, I am patient.
Amazon has been real stingy in the past year with few really exceptional deals, at least on the stuff that's overflowing my cart. I hope they make up for it this holiday season.

Last year they weren't stingy at all! Their BF week was incredible, and I placed like 25 different orders. Granted, you have to keep checking back since many deals were lightning deals good for like 2 hours, and could sell out sooner! They also PM'd pretty much every major store's BF sale prices, so I didn't have to fight the BB crowds. Amazon was the best thing about Black Friday last year, and I have a feeling it will be the same thing this year...

Oh, come now. It was a harmless little aside that grew organically from the thread. Two months from now no one will even be looking at this thread anymore except to bump it with complaints about delays in shipping and loose discs.
I concur. Amazon freed me up from the insanity enough that the only place I made a point of going was Half Price Books at 7 AM, and didn't have a single thing in mind I intended to find when I got there. Quite liberating!

I should have been more specific. I didn't mean a year ago, I said in the "past year" which was supposed to indicate the year SINCE last year's BF sale. I can see how that wasn't as clear as it should have been.
Since last year's BF sale I haven't found many deals on Amazon at all, but during last year's BF, I did pick up a few things. Am hoping for even better deals this BF.

I'd expect some titles to be around $5, I doubt less than that. I'd expect the majority of deals to be anywhere from $5-$12 depending on the release.

I'm hoping Cloudy drops to $10, as the lowest I've seen it is $15. I'm also hoping for some Blu box set deals, don't seem to be many advertised yet.
Thought I'd also point out that Amazon.co.uk will also be having a BF sale.

One advantage to Walmart and Target of advertising deals without listing all the titles is that Amazon and other competitors can't readily match them. However, it may well be that these deals are based on studio incentives, in which case Amazon might well have many of the same deals.
I hope, l hope...
