Re: Barnes & Noble Criterion Sale
I've received shipping notices on two orders, and both of them show $0.00 for each title and a total shipment price equal to the tax. I expect that I will be charged the correct price, but I don't think I've seen this happen before at B&N.

Here is mine:

Modern Times 1 11-22-2010 $0.00

I think Modern Times is a very famous movie?

That happened to me on my last order, but my card was charged the actual amount (disc price+tax).

^ My too. I ordered Apocalypse Now, and grew increasingly curious if they were trying to give it to me for free. The invoice in the package even showed $0.00, but I was charged the correct price on my CC. A little screwy, but of course glad that I didn't have to go through a hassle of calling to figure out why I wasn't being charged.

Everyone has their own comfort level with what is a "deal" here. If I received a product that I expected to be billed for but was not, yes... I would make some level of inquiry, even just an email to the company. I am in a service industry, and ideally hope for the same from my clients.

I just ordered Paths of Glory, House, Night of the Hunter, Modern Times, and Antichrist. (Too bad the BBS boxed set falls outside the sale!)

I think I'm going to make a ~2 hour round trip after work today, and see what I can accomplish in store with the $5 coupons. Never bought at the store before so I'm not sure how much success I'll have, and it's been so long since I've been there that I don't know what kind of stock they have.
Hopefully it's worth the gas and time.

I picked up my one title for the trip today - Breathless Blu-ray. No hassles with the coupon. I'll probably only be getting about 4 or 5 titles total during this sale over the next few weeks.
One title per trip with coupon = less hassles for fellow DVDTalkers. Spread the word.

Also, some have had success bringing in a stack of coupons and using them all at once, but that seems to be few and far between. It seems like most of the people here use them once (or twice) a trip and then go back on subsequent days.
I just thought that might save you some gas and time (or at least help you make an informed decision). Since the "regular" titles are $17.99 with the AAA or Library link, it might not be worth the extra trips for you.

Thanks to some side work I did, I will be picking up the remaining 24 titles released so far during the sale (sans A Christmas Tale...still have no idea why I can't find that one). Today:
11/1 - Thin Red Line ($13.91, member discount plus $5 off) & Paths Of Glory ($13.91, member discount plus $5 off, plan on getting that when I go home).
Since A Christmas Tale won't be in this one for me, I may get another Eclipse set, but I am not sure yet.

^^ I agree with Cardiff Giant. Your chances of getting someone to accept the coupon x 10 may be a bit slim. Most of us here are stopping by to get 1-2 (3 if we're lucky) at a time, so you're talking about two hours and gas to save $8-$15, most likely.

I had no problem using 4 coupons. The employee insisted on separate transactions but I have no problem with that. I picked up the following BDs:
Paths of Glory
Seven Samurai
Thin Red Line
Breathless

All of my orders in the past 2+ weeks have showed $0.00 for each item. They were billed correctly though.

I used one coupon today, so I ended up with Charade and Black Orpheus for $32.94. I'll try two coupons tomorrow, with Breathless and The Thin Red Line already on hold for me.

Great. The B & N near me doesn't carry Terminal Station, The Magician (even though it just came out on 10/12) or the Von Sternberg set, so it looks like I'll have to go the online route, costing me another $15.

There is definitely something wrong with the Store Pickup Request function. I just checked on The Thin Red Line Blu-ray and received the same OOS message when I clicked on Pick Me Up, which is impossible as I saw a dozen copies there not 30 minutes ago.
