Picked up 4 Bluray movies today with 25% off coupon (No luck with $5 off $20 coupon) Antichrist, The Magician, The Wages of Fear and Repulsion. Any suggestion for Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence, House, Black Orpheus ???

I've been picking one or two up every day for a week now for $13.74 each. I love this sale!

They told me TTRL is on the way in but I have a feeling it will have to be ordered online if I want it. Guess I'll wait till next week and then give up hope of getting it a few bucks cheaper.

A lot of my purchases have been here, but I've now made about 2 purchases from everyone in the department and I feel I'm done buying here for a while. I think I've become somewhat of a known quantity.

Last night, it was one of the guys in the department who pre-ordered it for me. I pre-ordered Videodrome from the Westwood Pavilion location, but the clerk called and oked it with his manager first. I'm going to try the Encino and Glendale locations. These are my other least hassle stores.

Cool. Thanks.

given how long I waited to buy 'Lola Montes' (during the July sale), I think I can wait to own Videodrome and Cronos. (if I have to watch it, though I'll just rent it from Netflix).

Black Orpheus is an essential purchase IMO, but I thought House was a little overrated, it's fun to watch, although I can't say I'd want to own it.

I liked what I saw and heard from the trailer though, the run time worries me a bit but I've watched shorter movies that seemed to take forever.

It looks great in blu-ray. I would suggest a couple of cold beers and just relax and let the movie flow over you like you are floating down a beautiful river.

Re: Barnes & Noble Criterion Sale

speaking of rivers, Criterion really really needs to release Jean Renoir's The River - talk about a colourful movie that would look amazing in hidef!

I went back today and the cashier let me use the 25% coupon on all releases. Here's my haul so far:

Gimme Shelter
Crumb
Charade

I'll be picking up Modern Times on Tuesday.

Isn't the 25% off coupon slightly worse than the $5 off?

just got an email saying The Human Condition has been canceled from my online order.

I know this is the blu ray forum and my order contains 15 or so blu rays but anyone else experienced anything like this? It should be an OOS issue given that the order is slated not to ship before 30 november.

Lots of people have reported random cancellations for reasons unknown.

You can call CS to find out what happened, and have them reorder it for you, but it would be more advantageous to try the current 25% off coupon on Human Condition, (assuming you live near a store), as that is an expensive title.

I paid extra $.040 for use 25% off coupon but u save extra $$ on titles $24.99 & UP. I getting tired dealing with cashier when i use $5 off on any titles under $20 :(

With CA tax, which is among the highest, the $5 discount on $39.99 titles ($17.99 during sale with member discount) is $0.57 greater than with the 25% coupon. But, on the titles that are $49.99 ($22.49 during sale with member discount), the 25% off actually yields a bigger discount than the $5 coupon ($0.67). And, for the more expensive titles, the 25% coupon becomes even more advantageous.

Went back and pre-ordered Cronos with the 25% coupon. Ended up getting a parking ticket the 10 minutes I ran into B&N. So Cronos just cost me $90.

I looked on the site and noticed that Videodrome is not $20. Are preorders not covered?

Not when the release date is after the sales end

I got lucky. First i order gift cards off card woo last week for 215 for 239 in credit. They came today thank god. I had was going to use them online to get 12 titles, which would have been a good deal, but i really lucked out today.

I signed up for the free membership online got we are marshall dvd for 2.99 it is a christmas present used a 15% coupon. Then signed my wife up and got any given sunday for a christmas present used the 25% off coupon for 4.50.

Went to two barnes and noble stores i used 4 25% off coupon, so did she, at each. We were also able to use the 5 off 50 coupon once each at each store. i also used 2 5 off 20 coupons. So here is what i got:

House
Monsoon wedding
in the realm of sense
Wages of fear
Close-up
Summer hours
Lola montes
The complete monterey pop festival
breathless
wings of desire
leopard
vivre sa vie
everlasting moments
Yojimbo & Sanjuro
seven samurai
Kagemusha
gimme shelter
red dessert

For a grand total of 266.39. So 27.39 besides my 239 gift card. Total cost to me 242.49

Now I have them all except for Third man and pierrot le fou. Not bad. I only started collecting last criterion sale in july. I have owned bottle rocket since it came out though.

I had a lady CS rep stop me tonight about using the $5 coupon. She told me she would take it but they are one limit per person and not to be reused.

O well, I'll be back tommorow when someone else is working. ;)
