Still WAY TOO MUCH to pay for these movies. I learned my lesson last November during the whole Up! and Monsters Inc deals that everyone was getting. I thought I was getting a great price at $14 a piece for those 2 titles and also Snow White at that price. Definitely not the case though. So unless you can get it from Amazon for $10 a piece or less then it is not a good deal at all in my opinion at least, especially this far away from release still.

"This far away from release" is the key here though. It's a moot point now as the deal is dead, but it's very easy to cancel these preorders if a better deal seems to be shaping up at B&M.

In the meantime, with Amazon's preorder price guarantee, this deal can only get better as we get closer to these titles' release dates.

I went for Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story 3, and Disney's A Christmas Carol for $52.97, or $17.65 a piece. They took ten bucks off, each.

I agree with you....IF I actually ended up locked into having to pay the price as of today. I am banking these go down in the couple of weeks prior to release to match other companies. If not, I will cancel, no harm done. I am willing to pay a couple of extra dollars per title to Amazon to not have to drive to the store, negotiate the coupon with a cashier, and pay my 7% state sales tax.

I got the email too. I didn't do the preorder with POP because I don't want POP. I wonder if this will go lower. Right now it's at $20 for just TS3 with the $8 coupon.

I can verify that it does stack with the buy 2 get $10 dollars off deal. Preordered Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story 3 for $36 bucks. Makes up for those of us that missed out on the glitch.

Because TS3 is the only item being offered that week, I don't think there will be ridiculous deals to be had on day one. There will be no "combo" offers.

Whether I buy Toy Story 3 BD when it comes out depends 100% on Disney offering the $10 off coupon and some store having the BD for $28 or less (before coupon). If they don't, then I will wait for a better price. For someone who has a normal price limit of $5 on a BD for a DVD I already own or $10 for a BD I don't own the DVD, it's a stretch for me to pay $15 on special new release (for Disney I can maybe go up to $18 AC because I know they purposefully keep their prices high and it's hard to find good sales on them).

So I see no point in preordering from Amazon because the price per BD is still over $18 each unless Amazon happens to mail you the $8 off coupon (which they didn't email me). It's just wait and see for the $10 off Disney coupon.

I think you will fine that there is a number of people that buy like him. I have came to the point now. I am not upgrading any DVD to Blu no matter what the cost.

I think its safe to say that retailers will have this in the 19.99 to 24.99 price range come release day. And with the disney coupon that you know they will do it will be between 9.99 and 24.99 maybe even cheaper, if they do some sort of promotion with Cars toons bluray

Actually, I ordered Toy Story 3, Beauty and the Beast and Disney's Christmas Carol for under $17.50 each with that -$10 (per blu) deal. Right now my total is $51.97 and I expect they'll all drop at least a few bucks each before release day.

You wouldn't upgrade any DVD to BD no matter what the cost? Now even at $1 each if that ever happens? At $5 each I would probably upgrade most of my DVDs to BDs, but I couldn't do it all at once because it could add up quickly. No worries... I think widespread $5 BDs is a long ways off.

I sure hope so. However, I've stopped assuming Disney will always have $10 off coupons or good prices. Something about the coupons or some rumor I heard made me think this was test marketing not meant to last forever. Though it had a coupon, James and the Giant Peach didn't have good in-store prices ($26.99 was the best). I guess everyone's thinking because Toy Story 3 is extra popular it will have better deals and the coupon. We'll see. I'm just saying I'm holding off until I see if Disney has the $10 off coupon. If they do, I'll get it locally. If they don't and Amazon still has their < $18 deal (they've had it for weeks or months), then I'll consider it.

I've already got an Amazon preorder for the next Tinkerbell and BATB BDs for $27.98. Never saw Christmas Carol or Prince of Persia so I can't justify blind buys of them at those prices. Only other upgrades I'd like (but don't need since I have the DVDs) are Finding Nemo, Tron, and both Fantasias later this year.
